Third chapter... lets hope it turns out to be alright. Sorry the chapters are short but hopefully they'll increase in length the longer the book goes on :)

I got home at five twenty and flopped down on the living room sofa; my feet were sore and my legs ached, since when would I walk back from school? I got a can of coke and went through by books to see if I had any homework, the next day was an all-day test... yay! (sense the sarcasm)
I was pretty confident on my test, most of the questions were easy enough to get good marks on and I finished early so I had to wait half an hour until the end of the school day. I didn't see Lewis for the rest of the day and I managed to catch my bus in time and get home.
It was Friday-finally- last day of school until Summer Vacation! An assembly was held halfway through the day in the sports hall where the cheerleaders of the school (who are absolute bitches btw) showed off their routine and a quick game of basketball was played. All the students took their seats on the benches and chattered noisily as we waited for the Principal, Mrs McNutt to take her place in the centre of the hall. Awards were given out- attendance, grades and best students. Mrs McNutt rambled on about good ideas of what to do during Summer Vacation if we haven't got anything planned (like me) and she gave a quick welcome to the newer students in the past term- such was Lewis...
I don't even know what I have against the guy! Maybe it's that he's British, or that he thinks he's better than everyone else, or that he thinks he's so popular... urgh Lewis doesn't even think he's better than any of us and he doesn't act like he's popular either. Maybe it's just one of those 'hate at first sight' type of things like you see in the movies between the nerdy girl and the cheerleaders.
There was a sudden pause in the assembly which shook me out of my thoughts. I looked around quickly at everyone I was sitting around and they all looked at me, "Scholarship to any university of choice goes to Abigail Mullen." Mrs McNutt said, "Abigail, would you please come to the front and accept this award."
I was completely shocked, everyone applauded as I stood up and made my way down the benches to Mrs McNutt, she congratulated me, shook my hand and handed me the award, "Abigail, would you like to say a few words?" the principal handed me the microphone she was using; I stood in silence for a moment before looking at the microphone in my hand and every that was looking at me. Lewis sat at the top of the benches with the rest of the jocks (maybe that's why I hated him?) and stared down at me. I swear there was a slight smirk on his face as he watched me, his eyes caught the light and suddenly seemed to sparkle, I cleared my throat softly before I got caught in a trance. "I-I would just like to thank everyone w-who has supported m-me so far and... I owe you guys." I kept it short and simple and quickly took my place again before I did something to embarrass myself.
Mrs McNutt congratulated the students for how well they'd done in the year so far and we were all then excused and told that we could leave school early.
"Congratulations." a voice said behind me, "You deserve it." I turned around to see Lewis standing in front of me with a bright smile, I forced myself not to return it so I just kept a straight face, "I thought I told you not to talk to me." I said simply, Lewis shrugged and rubbed that back of his neck, "You'd really think I would actually listen to you?" he asked, "Good luck with that." "Yeah sure." I mumbled, "Could you please not talk to me?" "You know, I have no idea what you even have against me. What did I ever do to you?" "You spoke to me." I said, "Now go away and stay out of my summer vacation."
