*Alec's POV:*

Alec adjusted the scarf wrapped loosely around his neck, watching his breath puff out in the cold winter air and dissipate into curling wisps of condensation. This would be the first time he'd seen Magnus in nearly four weeks, seeing as High Warlock of Brooklyn and demon-slayer weren't exactly occupations that had set off days. They'd planned to meet at the little coffee shop for about a week or two, but never got around to it due to the Warlock's many various appointments and demands, not to mention Alec's own busy schedule. He stepped inside the coffee shop, hair wind-tousled and fair cheeks rosy red from the cold.

His clear eyes quickly scanned the little shop, looking for the dark-haired warlock himself. It didn't take him long to spot the warlock, his tall frame sitting cross-legged at one of the wooden tables scattered across the room. Today, he was clad in a tasteful navy winter blazer, the sleeves of which had been pushed up to his elbows (and did wonderful things to Magnus' forearms, in Alec's opinion). A rather bright (but inexplicably Magnus) mustard yellow scarf was draped loosely around his wide shoulders, and his dark hair, usually so perfectly gelled and styled, was wind strewn and disheveled. He was idly swirling the design in his latte with a coffee stirrer, his lanky legs now extended fully from underneath him in a stretch.

Alec hurriedly shuffled to sit down next to him, pulling out the chair across from him and making a horrifyingly loud noise due to the scraping of the table legs on the floor. Alec sat down with a cringe, picking up the tiny menu of drinks and pastries and scanning over it.

"No hello?" Magnus' voice held a teasing tone, but Alec, being the poor self-deprecating soul he is, took the banter seriously, assuming the look of a deer caught in headlights as he flushed an impossible shade of crimson.

"Sorry, Magnus, I guess I just-"

Magnus cut him off with his soft chuckles, his cat eyes glittering with laughter.

"Don't look so appalled, will you? This is our first date all over again," Magnus rolled his eyes affectionately.

"Sorry, I'll just order," Alec flashed a slightly embarrassed half-smile.

Alec ended up ordering a large coffee, no cream or sugar. Magnus wondered silently to himself how the boy could drink such copious amounts of caffeine in the afternoon without having a heart attack, but decided to keep the question to himself as he sipped his own beverage.

"So," Alec said between sips, "What've you been up to, recently?"

"Oh, you know," Magnus drawled, playing with a frayed edge on his scarf, "Magic business, warlock things, you know the deal. "

Alec made an incoherent noise behind his coffee mug, Magnus interpreting it as a sign to continue speaking.

"There was a very drunk Faerie girl around two weeks ago who came in demanding my finest porcupine eggs," he continued on, mentally singing when Alec spluttered with laughter behind his coffee mug.

"Yeah," he nodded, "she was right mad. I sent her out with a handful of goatheads which she paid for ten bucks apiece. "

"Magnus!" Alec gave him a light shove, looking mildly horrified at the prospect of Magnus scamming the Faerie girl.

"I love that expression," Magnus said fondly, holding back a laugh behind his coffee cup. "Perhaps I should scam drunk Faerie girls more often."

Alec's eyes widened slightly as a flush of red heated up his pale cheeks. "No, Magnus!" he replied hastily. Magnus shuddered with silent bouts of laughter.

"Yep," he said. "There's the expression I was talking about."

Alec simply stared into his coffee cup as if it had suddenly become the most interesting thing in the room. Magnus reached out his hand and intertwined his slim, coffee-colored fingers with Alec's calloused ivory ones, stroking his knuckles gently. A small smile found Alec's lips and his eyes softened into that beautiful rich blue that Magnus could stare at for hours. Alec leaned forward and ghosted his lips lightly against Magnus', giving him a soft butterfly kiss.

Magnus leaned back to look in Alec's eyes.

"Alec.?"

"Mm?"

"Aku cinta kamu."
