Heyyy guyysss! I'm Sapphire aka saph and this... is the story of my life."ringg!!! ringggg!!!!" my alarm clock rang. I was so tired as i had slept at 3am that day. "3am to 7am is sooo not enough sleep. I should seriously stop watching movies in the night..." I thought to myself. I groggily shut the alarm clock off and got ready for school.
Don't get me wrong... I don't really HATE school. In fact I like a part of it... Tuesdays...3.30pm-5.30pm... my dance CCA. Well, dance has been my passion since I was 4 so I guess you can expect that.
After that, I started walking out of my suite at skyfall hotel to the breakfast area. Some people think I am lucky but really...no... Since I was 4 years old, I have been living in Skyfall Hotel... a 5star hotel my father owns. I know that its luxurious and all but I never get the feel of home. Imagine staying in a hotel for your whole life...
When I reached the breakfast area, I took some food from the buffet table and went to the concierge to tell them to call for a driver... and yes... I get dropped by a "driver" (strange man wearing a skyfall hotel uniform) everyday... I guess you know I don't like it.
So, like everyday, I get in the car say hello to the driver and when he drops me, I say bye. Well, basic courtesy right? Then I run to the school gates and meet my best friends Stephanie and Ruby. Both dancers.
"Sapphire! Hiii! How was your weekend?" Stephanie asked me. I mumble okay sleepily and walk towards our math lecture hall. Imagine starting the day with math... So we finished all our classes and then was the best. "Good Afternoon Miss Sherry!" we shout in unison. After an exhausting hour of dancing, she called for a break. I grabbed my water bottle and collapsed on the floor.
She told us that she had a very important announcement and continued thata few people from our dance CCA had been selected to audition to get into the Royal Dance Academy of New York.
I was very interested in it but my dance wasn't good enough. I couldn't do 10 pirouettes. I couldn't even remember the hip hop routine we were learning the previous day. "Well, I might as well stay on and see who was selected. I could probably cheer on Stephanie(steph) and ruby" I thought.
"Now for the selected ones. Only 5 of you are selected to audition. The audition will take place here in Singapore. First, Ruby!" Ruby stood up happily and everyone clapped for her. "then, veronica, then, stephanie , and then Sarah and lastly....." I was a nervous wreck. Would it be me? "Sapphire!! Congratulations to all! You may now carry on home and tell your parents." ms sherry said.
oh my god! I had gotten in!!! I couldn't hold my excitement inside. I literally ran and squashed ruby. "we. are. in!" I yelled at her breathlessly. I then called my driver and we got back to the hotel. the first thing I did was tell my mom. she told me she was proud of me and then we ate dinner.
The next day, I got a phone call on the details of the audition. I was supposed to audition in the LASALLE dance studio in one week! I spent the next few days perfecting my pirouettes and preparing my dance then it was THE DAY.
