Pearl of the Stars

                              - Coheed and Cambria

Ever since that day with Endigo, I’ve started to see the world through different eyes.  I learned more about her that day, and more about the Lesbians.  Like how Endigo and Mary Jane were lazy sleepy stoners and would fall asleep right after smoking.  Olive nudged me and I looked at the two sleepy beauties.  I picked both of them up one at a time and set them in Mary Jane and Olive’s bed were they could sleep soundly.  Olive so happened to be a talker, she would talk about anything and everything once she was high.  So I asked her to tell me their story.

Olive wasn’t a twelve year old boy, she was sixteen and worked at the local Farmer’s Market.  Mary Jane was twenty and planned on attending an art school in Memphis, Tennessee in the fall.  Endigo turned eighteen in March, and she was still undecided about her life.  Her parents wanted her to go off to college in the fall, so she put in her papers and got a full ride to the University of Arkansas, where she would be moving to in 8 weeks.  Her parents were excited, she became depressed.  Endigo and Mary Jane went to high school together and both graduated early in December. Olive was still in high school but started to think about joining the National Guard so that she would be able to go to college for free.

Mary Jane and Olive wasn’t the richest people in the world, they fought for and stole everything they could to put food on the table.  The house they lived in was Mary Jane’s, a gift from her father, as long as they could pay the bills on time, which they struggled with.  But Endigo was always there for them, through thick and thin, and helped them out whenever she could.

Olive told me that Endigo started going down the wrong path back when she turned thirteen.  Her and Mary Jane first picked up shop lifting from local dollar stores.  When they noticed how easy it became, they traveled to Jonesboro (a forty-five minute drive) every chance they got to steal from the high end stores at the mall.  Olive informed that in one week’s time Endigo and Mary Jane could steal over one thousand dollars with of clothes, purses, bracelets, posters, necklaces, and shoes.  Some of the clothes were given to friends as gifts, but they normally kept everything for themselves.

“Most of everything they wear,” said Olive ,” is stolen.”

The uneasy feeling came back to me, but she assured me that they didn’t steal from people, only from stores.  To me that really didn’t make a difference.

When Endigo and Mary Jane became Freshmens in high school, they started exploring the drug scene together.  First drug both of them did was pot, thanks to Endigo‘s hippy uncle Hue, the Sunday school teacher.  Then slowly the habit snuck its way to pills and spiraled out of control with cocaine.  Endigo swears she stopped her coke habit, but Mary Jane went even higher and became a meth user before their Junior year was over.

The summer after their Junior year, Mary Jane was forced into a rehab center.  For three whole months she was sober, and loved it, but when she was free was one week till she was hooked on White Pony yet again.

Mary Jane and Olive started going broke soon after Mary Jane was out of rehab, possibly due to her costly cocaine fixes.  The money they were using to help pay their bills was the money that Mary Jane’s mom would send her from her ’crazy’ checks.  When Mary Jane’s mother found out about her still using, she quit sending them.  Endigo made some calls, and it was then they started dealing and stealing.  They would steal clothes and sale them to have enough to get large amounts drugs so they would be able to deal and have some for themselves.  They were making roughly around five thousand dollars a week because of this little scheme they cooked up.
