Can my heart be so gentle? Then at other times be so rough? Who we handle with a rough heart and a silk soul be determined with one question? Seemingly, we perceive so, but some stumble off of that path..
I did not go home that night. Greyson did know the fact that my mom wouldn't want me back. My drunken question was never answered.
"I warn you; Antonio is not as nice as he comes off." Greyson said.
"Antonio?" I asked, then painfully hiccuped.
"My older brother." He said as he opened the door to the house.
"Dammit, Greyson! Shut that door!"
I walked in quickly, and Greyson stepped in behind me.
"Talk of nothing, Antonio. It wasn't even open." Greyson said.
The owner of the voice, Antonio, walked into the room. Particularly, they looked a lot alike, besides the fact that Antonio was slightly bigger and had longer hair.
He stood in awe, "Good gracious, there is a girl with you." He walked over and greeted me with a painful hug.
"Ow!" I screeched.
Antonio let go of me. He looked to his brother, concerned for me.
"Her mother broke her ribs." Greyson said.
Antonio lead me over to a couch and made me lie down, "We will have to call a healer," He said.
"Please, no." I said.
"Well, let me address it, to see how bad it actually is." Antonio said.
"Get Greyson to leave first." I said to him.
Antonio looked to his little brother, and shooed him into a different room. I lifted my dress to expose my stomach.
My skin appeared a hue of blue and purple around the broken bones, and the skin sucked slightly inward into my body.
Antonio's eyes widened at the sight, "We definitely need the healer."
"I'll send out word for her," Greyson said from the other room.
Antonio came over to me, and got on his knees so he could face me better. He whispered to me as he walked out the door, "What do you see in him, you could marry a much better man."
"Greyson is a handsome man. Why do you say that he is not?" I asked.
"That blood is rushing to your head, and not your wounds. Don't lie on your back for him. Make yourself strong. Don't fall in love with him too fast, and love him will all your heart if you must." Antonio said.
I nodded to him. He smiled at me.
I don't know why Antonio said he was so bad. He cares about me. Who could reject that? Myself? Greyson?
I kept repeating what Antonio said over in my mind. Whenever I remembered the words 'Don't lie on your back for him,' it made me shiver.
Greyson walked through the door, "She shall be here by morn', if the messenger's as fast his feet are his ever loving paced mind."
"What should come of it, Greyson?" I asked.
"She should be able to heal you, and then you will be okay. After that you can go find a nice man to get away from that demon you label as a mother." Greyson said.
Antonio walked in with a cup of tea, steaming, and much so, "Drink, it'll help you sleep."
I took the cup from him and pulled the hot liquid down my throat, feeling instantly relaxed. What I could see was Antonio walking over to Greyson, and putting his hand to his lips to hide his conversation. I could hear faint lips touching, as if it were real. Greyson whispered back, still inaudible. Maybe I just couldn't hear for the damn tea. And my eyes slid entirely closed.
