Today was the day that would start the beginning of the worst year of my life. And I thought Jack dying was horrible. It will be nothing compared to what happens next.

~~9 A.M.~~

I woke up, and got dressed in a sweater and jeans. It was just starting to become winter outside. What felt like yesterday but was actually in August, my mom was arrested. Jack died a few weeks ago. His funeral was two weeks ago. Kaylee moved in last weekend. My mom wrote to me last night. As I got ready, I decided that I would visit my mom. Alone. I told Lilith to get Luke ready. I drove to where they kept her. We got to talk to each other in a cafeteria-like area with tables. "I'm glad you came," she said with a smile. "Yea. I'm good. Luke and I live in Jack's house," I decided not to mention his death. "I'm good. Well, as good as it can get here in prison." She said sarcastically. We talked about school and Luke. Around 10, I left. I decided to go visit dad.

I knocked on his door. He answered. "Oh, didn't expect you to come by.." He said. I shrugged. "Still drinking?" I asked. He didn't answer, but that gave me my answer. I rolled my eyes. "I came by to tell you that I'm doing fine and I will be bringing Luke here at the end of the day, not Lilith." I said. He nodded. "Good. Good." He said with a smile.

Even though he was often drunk, he still cared about the both of us. He tried talking to us about our personal lives, not school. 'Did you like anyone? In a relationship? Get a job?' Were just a few questions that would pop up. Kaylee actually worked, along with Lilith. Kaylee and Lilith both worked at a diner. Kaylee was a chef and Lilith was a waitress. I stayed home with Luke.

"Well, I should go." I said. He nodded. He seemed sober. Well, whatever. We said our goodbyes and I headed towards the diner they worked at. "
'Emily's Diner.' That was what it was called. I walked in. "Oh, hello stranger," Lilith greeted me with a smile. I smiled back. "So what would you like?" She asked. "Belgian waffle and sweet tea," I responded. I usually ordered this when I came here, but that was before Lilith got a job. She went back to the counter, and within a few minutes, she was back. She served me my food. I thanked her and she nodded. I ate pretty quickly, wanting to get home and check on Ashel. After I ate, I left. I opened the door, and Ashel headbutted my leg. I closed the door quickly. "No, no. You little escape artist," I said, picking him up. I sat down and watched some TV. At 3:12, Lilith came home with Luke and told me Kaylee was working an extra shift. The rest of the day was normal.

Kaylee came home at 6:47 P.M. We ate dinner, and all went to our rooms. I must of taken a nap, because I was awoken with my phone ringing. I looked at the ID. It was the hospital. I answered. "Hello, are you Rebecca Wilson?" A male voice said. "Yes," I responded. They told me why the called me.

No. This wasn't right. I just visited them. This can't be happening. I stopped pacing around the room. The world was a blur, and everything soon became dark as I fell to the floor.
