I'd like to think that I was the only one in sight
The only one caught up in your headlights
You were focused on me, as far as I could tell
Your narrow beams centered on my heart
Headlights so bright make people blind
Blind to the evil that has them caught
Moving closer to me, I prepared for your embrace
Love was so close, all I could see was the light
But you moved right past me, not even touching
How was I so blind to what was going on?
Your beams weren't focused on me, they outstretched past me
Clinging onto a more fortunate soul than I
I admired your headlights while it lasted
Now I only see your taillights fading away
