Have you ever been truly changed by an event you witnessed. Have you watched the final episode of a wonderful anime and sat, watching the credits with a tear threatening to come. Have you defeated the final boss battle in a video game and feel that sweet, sad feeling of accomplishment. Have you completed a book series and read the last chapter again and again and again. Have you felt the feeling afterwards. That tug at your heart, the stunned silence, the happiness that you saw the ending but that silent sadness because you wish it never ended.
I write filled with this emotion, having just finished a series called TOME by Chris Niosi. I won't try put my feelings in words because it's something you just can't do. Language was made to convey emotions and experiences but it can't do that properly. My thoughts on what make me happy are completely different to yours. But it is the futility of language that makes it truly beautiful, how it forces us to connect with the writer in order to understand his or her joys or pains, how it both forms and shatters bonds and how it gives us a window into another's mind. Writers don't write, they try to convey the beauty they see with words, not pictures. And we fail, which is why we keep writing
It is the futility of our voices which allow us to be heard and the sweet, sad emotions that make us great
Have a nice day
And with that Facade 09 walked away into the sunset.
