-April! Please, come and help me with the dinner!

April. April!? What kind of name is that? Well, I mean... I guess that I was born in April, but why did they name me that? And yes, by "they" I mean my parents. Caroline and Damon Woods. They are dead now. They died in a carcrash when I was 3 years old. Tragically, right?

The person who just shouted my name was my Aunt Claire.

She is like my parents, because... well, my real parents are dead. But what was she asking me? Oh, that's right! She wanted my help!

-I'm coming, Claire!

When I had helped Claire, I asked her if I could go out into the forest.

The big, mighty forest was my favourite place. There, among the big trees and the animals, I could think clearly.

-Sure April, but come home before the sun sets.

I putted on a brown jacket and my shoes. Then I rushed out through the door and ran straight towards the forest that surrounded our croft.

The sun was low in the sky , so low that it could not be seen for the big trees. The last rays of sun shine down through the reddish-brown treetops and formed a pattern of light spots on the leafcoated ground. I shivered . It was really autumn now.

I sighed , sat down on a stone and thought of my parents.

Quietly, I looked up at the sky and found that I had 5 minutes of daylight left before the sun disappeared completely . I was just about to get up from the stone when I heard a branch snapp .
Horrified , I looked around but saw nothing .

-It was probably just a rabbit who stepped on a branch , I said quietly .
Then, I saw it. It was something I had never seen before and something that I could never dream of.

It was a deer, with snow-white, gleaming coat. The black eyes had a faint hint of light blue. The long legs ended in golden hooves that gently stepped on the fallen leaves. The head adorned by a pair of majestic golden horns that glittered in the sun's last rays. I gasped as the black eyes looked me up and down. Atleast, it was so it felt.

Without a warning, the deer went away. I followed it, though it was not I who moved my legs. It was as if the deer steered me.

We went on a path, a path that led to unknown parts of the forest to me. Suddenly the deer stopped. It clipped startled with its ears and looked around nervously.
Then suddenly, a big black shadow came crashing down from in the trees. It rushed up to the deer and buried its teeth in its throat. Then I saw the beast. It was a wolf. An unusually large wolf, actually. Suddenly I noticed that the wolf stared at me with deer blood dripping from its mouth. But, so strange ... The blood was not red, but had a warm, golden tone. With a leap the wolf was right in front of me and had burried its teeth into my arm before everything went black.
