The next morning I woke up to find I was alone in bed. I heard the water running from the bathroom and immediately realised he was in the shower. I sat up and stretched. It was another great night spent with Bucky Barnes. I knew I was falling for him but I knew this was ridiculous and it couldn't happen, especially after I saw him fall to his death in my vision. I got out of bed, completely naked and walked into the bathroom to join Bucky in the shower.

"I could get used to this, you know," he replied with a husky laugh.

"Me too," I said before I kissed him passionately.

"Lil, we're off to the location. If you need us you know where to find us okay?" shouted Sam from behind the door.

"Okay Sam. Be careful you two!" I shouted back as I came out of the bathroom with Bucky in tow.

"You're not working today?" asked Bucky.

"Well, I sort of am, but I'm also not...if that makes any sense," I replied with a laugh. He raised an eyebrow and looked slightly confused but he shrugged it off.

"Hey, do you wanna come to the base with me today? I'd like to show you around," he asked as he wrapped his arms around me from behind.

"Don't you have to work and train?" I asked with a frown.

"Well...yeah...sort of but I can spare some time for you to show you around. I'm sure nobody will mind," he replied with a hopeful look in his eyes.

"Bring your girlfriend to work day...sounds a bit weird but okay, whatever," I laughed. He grinned.

"Does this make me your boyfriend then?" he asked with a glint in his eye. I rolled my eyes and laughed even more.

"Sure playboy, whatever makes you happy," I said with a wink. He chuckled and pulled me in for a deep kiss.

"Okay, we should stop or we'll never get out of here," I said pushing him off.

"Who's this?" asked Peggy with a frown when Bucky came in to work with a woman in tow.

"She's a good friend and I thought she'd like to see the base since she works in a similar field," he explained. Peggy wasn't convinced. She'd never heard of any soldiers bringing in common visitors to base.

"What do you mean, a similar field?" she asked.

"She hunts bad guys down, she didn't really specify but I've seen her in action. She's good!" he replied with a grin.

"Fine! Make sure she stays out of trouble," she said sternly before she continued on her way.

"Don't worry about her," started Bucky before Lily cut him off.

"I'm not. She's just fighting and working harder to be seen as a leader since she's a woman. That's absolutely fine with me," she explained. Bucky looked at her with wide eyes. She seemed to understand Peggy more than anyone else did. He shrugged and showed her around the base. He introduced her to some other soldiers and then brought her to a room. Steve was there and was standing around some type of map discussing strategy with a few others.

"Ah there you are Buck. Oh hello Lily...what are you doing here?" asked Steve, a little confused. Bucky explained everything and Steve just shrugged. He continued with his strategy talk as both Bucky and Lily joined them but they seemed to be stuck on whatever they needed to do next.

Lily looked closely at the map and pointed towards it, "May I?" Steve was slightly taken aback.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"Sometimes you need someone else's point of view...so, may I?" she asked again.

"Uh...go ahead..."

Lily scanned the map another time and moved a few of the pieces that represented them. She circled the map a couple of times and then looked at the rest of the people in the room.

"What do you think?" she asked. Steve and the others looked at the new positions and realised she just gave them the best solution to attack.

"That's it! How did you do it?" asked Steve incredulous. She only smiled without saying anything except 'You're welcome'.

"Hey, where's the restroom?" I asked while Bucky was showing me around the training camps.

"Oh, uh...back at the main offices. Want me to take you there?" he asked.

"No need, I'm sure I'll find them by myself. Just keep doing your job and I'll be back in a few," I reassured him. He nodded and I left towards the main offices. I found my way easily since I had an excellent memory.

"Hi, would you mind telling me where the ladies' room is, please?" I asked a pretty blonde secretary once I was inside. She pointed me in the right direction and I did my business. After a few minutes, I left the restroom and started walking back to wherever Bucky was. I was quite close to where Bucky was when I heard a jeer behind me that came from a group of soldiers I'd just passed. I stopped in my tracks and turned around.

"What did you just say to me?" I asked calmly. The men were laughing and looking at me like they'd never seen a woman before. Of course, it didn't help that I had a tattoo that was very visible from my shirt.

One of the men stood up from where he was sitting and walked up to me, "I said why don't you come over here and serve us up some of that nice piece of ass." With that last word he made a grab for my ass...well he tried to because I was much faster than him and grabbed his hand in my left hand and bent and squeezed it painfully without much effort. The man yelled out in agonising pain and he fell to his knees trying to gain his breath back.

Other people ran out to see what the commotion was about, including Bucky who widened his eyes at what he was seeing.

"Say that again, to me or to any other woman ever again and I will do more than just hold your hand in a tight grip," I said in an quiet angry tone. The man had tears in his eyes from the pain.

"Okay, okay! I'm sorry!" he yelled out. I knew he was just saying that to get me to let go but I let him go anyway. I could see him starting to breathe slightly easier once more. I turned round to see Bucky and I smiled as I started walking towards him.

"Bitch!" I stopped walking once again and I turned around to face the now standing man.

"Seriously?" I asked, not amused. The man seemed to be completely defiant in his stance.

"Unless you want to be humiliated again by a woman, I suggest you walk away and say nothing," I said, the threat clear in my voice. He apparently didn't get the message and scoffed. He really didn't seem to have learnt his lesson.

"I will never let a simple woman humiliate me!"

"Oh...what are you gonna do about it then? I really suggest you walk away..." I said before turning around again. I knew he would refuse to listen and he charged at me.

***

"Lily, look out!" yelled Bucky but he didn't have a chance to finish his warning before Lily quickly turned and ducked, planting a full-on punch into the man's stomach, sending him flying into the air. Everyone's eyes widened. Both Steve and Peggy had come out to see what was happening and they blinked in astonishment at the sheer power of the tiny woman.

Bucky couldn't believe his eyes. He knew Lily could hold her own and that she could take care of herself but he never imagined she'd be this strong or this quick. He didn't feel afraid of her though. On the contrary, he felt in awe at her. She was graceful in her movements and she was very precise.

Lily looked around herself and she noticed she had an audience. She cleared her throat and walked back to Bucky who embraced her tightly. He was still a little bit shaken up that one of his own would treat women that way and he was glad that she was able to take care of him on her own. He was glad she was safe.

Steve and Peggy looked at each other and frowned. They made a signal to Bucky so they'd follow them to a private area. He nodded and told Lily to go with him. She followed him, no questions asked.

***

"Lily, isn't it?" asked Peggy. I could tell she was impressed. I nodded.

"That was quite a show of strength you gave there. What is you do exactly?"

"I work for an off-the-grid secret police organisation. I can't tell you any more than that but I hunt bad guys with my colleagues. That's why we're here this week."

"Like the FBI?" asked Steve. Well, you couldn't deny that he and Bucky were best friends.

"A little bit like the FBI," I replied, "Like I said, it's off-the-grid." I watched as Peggy narrowed her eyes slightly as if she were contemplating whether I was telling the truth or not.

"I'm not working for Hydra if that's what you're implying," I said with a sigh.

"And how could we be sure of that?" asked Steve.

***

Bucky couldn't believe they were giving Lily the third degree. He frowned. He didn't like it one bit.

"I trust her and I'm sure she's telling the truth," he said matter-of-factly. Lily looked at him surprised.

"How can you be so sure?" asked Peggy. Lily sighed again.

"Look, I know it's not easy to trust someone who's skilled in combat and who's not in the military or something, especially a woman. I assure you though that I'm not working for Hydra...if I could, hell I'd join you in a second to destroy those sons of bitches. But that's not my job. My job is to take cases with my colleagues wherever they pop up and take care of those, preferably before any deaths occur. I can't tell you the exact nature of my job because that would mean putting you guys in danger too and I don't want that!" she explained, the sadness clear in her eyes.

A few seconds of silence passed before Steve came up to me, "Alright Lily, I believe you. Also because I trust Bucky's instincts."

"If Steve trusts you, then I trust you too," said Peggy. I looked at all of them and smiled.

"Thanks," I whispered. Bucky embraced me once again.

"Why don't you take the rest of the day off Buck and take her back," suggested Steve. Bucky nodded and led Lily back to the car.

"I'm sorry about that, doll," he said.

"It's fine...I've found myself in worse situations to be honest. I'm sorry about causing a scene," she said. He grabbed her hand and pulled it to his mouth to place a kiss on it.

"Don't apologise. Pigs like him should learn to treat others, especially women, with respect. I can't believe I worked with that guy! Don't worry...you did the right thing and I'm really glad you can defend yourself. It puts my mind at ease that when you'll be gone you'll be able to take care of yourself..." he said, his voice growing quieter near the end of the sentence. Lily's heart broke. They both knew that their time together was very short and they needed to make the best of it.

Bucky parked the car next to the motel and they both got out. They made their way up to her room in silence and only after they'd closed the door did they start expressing their feelings for each other through actions.

***

A few of hours later, a knock came on the door. I woke up, and stumbled towards the door and cracked it open slightly.

"Hey Dean, back from watching the location?" He nodded.

"How did it go?" I asked.

"Can you meet us in our room so we can talk?" I looked back to the bed and saw that Bucky was sleeping still. I looked back at Dean and nodded.

"Just give me a few minutes. I'll be right there."

As soon as I closed the door, I pulled on some clothes and tiptoed over to Bucky's sleeping form. I found the pen and paper on the bedside table and wrote him a note that I'd be back soon and for him to stay as long as he liked. I pecked his lips softly and he barely stirred. He must have been really tired. So I left the room and went over to Sam and Dean's.

"So, what happened?" I asked. It was evident that they'd found something unusual otherwise they wouldn't have called me to talk in private.

"Well, we solved the mystery of where the body's disappeared to. While we were watching the morgue where she was being held, we noticed two odd guys loitering in the area. They went into the morgue and took the lady's body. So we followed them and guess where they took her! They took the body to an abandoned house just outside of town and placed her in a frikkin' chair, as if she were alive!" explained Dean. My eyes widened at this piece of information.

"What do you mean? Who are these people?" I asked.

"I did a little research and it turns out these are her family. Weirdest thing though, it wasn't just her corpse that was displayed as if she were some sort of decoration...there were others. Probably other deceased family members...all rotting away in that house..." added Sam with a grimace on his face.

"Why would anyone wanna 'save' these corpses?!" I asked rhetorically. I was completely disgusted by the news.

"I don't have a fucking clue!" replied Dean.

"Thing is...we never checked such a house back in our time...they might all still be there, still rotting away..." said Sam.

"So what? They buried an empty coffin? ...She was never buried...someone didn't actually rob her grave...they simply robbed her corpse straight out of the morgue...that is just sick!" I thought aloud, my eyes still wide with shock.

"Tell me about it!" groaned Dean.

"So what's the plan now?" I asked with an exasperated sigh.

"We go to the house and burn and salt the whole thing down," said Dean.

"Not tonight though...it's when the crazy family members show up..." explained Sam.

"So, we should watch them for a few days to figure out when they show up and when they don't," I added.

"Yeah, that's the best idea we've got so far," said Sam. I sighed in frustration. As much as I wanted to stay with Bucky, I wanted the ghost thing to be over and done with as soon as possible. I left the boys to go back to my room where Bucky was still asleep. I slipped into bed again and I felt Bucky's arm slide across my waist and pull me further into him. I sighed contentedly. I really could get used to this.

A couple of hours later I woke up to Bucky kissing my naked shoulder. I moaned softly and turned over onto my back. I started running my fingers through his hair and smiled at him.

"Hey...what time is it?" I asked.

"About seven. Wanna go get dinner?" he replied as his hand brushed gently against my cheek. I nodded. He kissed me softly and we both got out of bed and got dressed.

"I just need to check in with my colleagues about tonight...it seems we have a stake-out to do for the next few nights," I explained.

"Sure," he answered with a nod. We both went down to the bar area where Sam and Dean were. Bucky waited for me by the door while I spoke to them.

"Hey, what's the plan for tonight?" I asked.

"Meet us back here at 11pm and we'll go," said Sam. I nodded and was about to leave before Dean caught my arm. I looked back at him questioningly. He looked concerned.

"Hey Lil...you and that guy...be careful okay?" he said gently. I swallowed. I knew what he was talking about. Both of the Winchester brothers had seen me with a broken heart before and they were both concerned about it happening again. I smiled softly.

"Thanks, but don't worry okay?" I whispered and then I left to join Bucky. I slipped my hand in his and he took me to a different restaurant.
