My Guardian Angel

Chapter 1

I hurried down the dark alley way, pepper spray held firmly in my hand. I heard a crash and I jumped. I spun around quickly at the sound, hand held in air with the spray. I know I was being a little dramatic, but the dark was scary. I saw nothing. 'Must have been a cat' I reassured myself. I turned back around to continue walking to my car.

But I stopped before almost smashing into a large object. 'Oh crap' I thought to myself. This wasn't some object, it was a man. I looked up into his face and you could just tell by his features he was dangerous. He had a scare on his face running from his right check across his lip and down his chin. 'Well this is the last time I ever work late.' I thought bitterly, but then he spoke gaining all of my attention.

"Hello there pretty lady. Now what is a beautiful woman like you walking all alone?" He said looking me up and down.

I was frozen with fear. I knew I should have taken that self defense class with my sister! I just didn't have time. I'll bet you wish you made time now. My mind told me. "Oh shut up!" I told it back.

"Excuse me." The scar man said with anger lacing his voice. He grabbed me by my shoulders and pushed me against a brick building. The force made me drop the pepper spray.

Oh no. I said that outloud!

"I'm sorry!" I begged. "Please let me go.." My voice was trembling. "Don't hurt me please...you can have all the money I have just let me go..." I begged again.

"Nah. I don't want your money. I'd rather have you." His eyes filled with lust as he once again looked my body up and down.

"No. No. Please no." I was on the verge of tears now. He kept coming though. His lips were on my neck now making me cringe with disgust. I had to do something, but he was still holding me and my struggles were no use against his strength. I made one finally attempt to get him off me and kneed him in his tender area. He buckled over grabbing himself and groaned in pain.

I took his distraction as my chance to get away and darted down the alley way. But what I didn't expect was the three guys blocking my escape. These must be his cronies. Of course. I couldn't have just gotten away easy.

"Don't let her get away!" The man with the scar yelled running towards us. I tried to get around the other men, but I wasn't quick enough and one held me with my arms behind my back and he had one arm around my neck. The man with the scar had caught up to us now.

I was crying now. "Please God, please save me." I whispered looking up at the night sky.

"God? He can't save you." The man with the scar said menacingly. "Because he doesn't exist."

"Ben?" One of the men who caught me called from behind me. "James, its Ben. He was here a minute ago." He said to the man with the scar, James.

"Shut up Cody. I'm busy." James said. "Give her to me." He said to the man holding me. James grabbed me and started feeling his way up the back of my shirt. I closed my eyes.

"No. No..." I cried. But then James's weight was pulled off me. I opened my eyes and no one was there.

Okay. No WAY did I just imagine all that!

Then I saw him. My savior. My eyes went wide.

"Hello Anna." He said with the most beautiful voice I had ever heard. I couldn't speak. "Don't be afraid. I am your guardian angel."
