Disclaimer: I don't own Stitchers: ABCF does.
Summary: Takes place after the events of 1x01. Cameron speaks with Maggie about knowing the new stitcher. Kirsten is only mentioned in this one. Only Cameron and Maggie are actually in the story, really.
"What is it you wanted to talk about, Dr. Goodkin?"
Cameron cringed at the nickname from his boss. In all honesty, he didn't want to talk to Maggie, but what had to be done, well, had to be done.
"It's Kirsten. I think I already met her."
"Do tell."
Cameron sighed, letting his brain go back to his fuzzy memories from the hospital. His scar was itching.
"There was a day, a little ways after my heart surgery. I was roaming the halls, unable to sit still. I walked past a room with a little girl in it, probably a couple years younger than me.
"She said her name was Kirsten. Her mom had been put in a coma after a wreck. She said her dad was smart, and that he had a plan to wake up her mother."
Maggie nodded, absorbing the information.
"Listen closely, Cameron. None of this is to be mentioned to Kirsten. You already see how suspicious she is of this program. Information like that will only make her dig until she's six feet under. And whatever you do, do not let her find out about her mother."
Cameron stood ridge, not understanding completely, but going along with it.
"One last thing," he said. "How come Kirsten doesn't remember that?"
Maggie's eyes met him with an intensity that would rival any other. "It's possible she does. I'm sure you look different from your child-self. And even if she doesn't, there's no reasonable explanation as to why right now. If you figure it out though, feel free to tell me." With that, Maggie left her office, leaving Cameron to wonder just how much his boss knew.
Of course, Cameron did figure out later why Kirsten couldn't remember the day they met, or their adventures afterward (although short-lived, the two did have some fun when Kirsten visited the hospital).
When he plunged the needle into his arm, Cameron saw what he needed to do. Kirsten plagued his every thought, the blonde running her course through his brain.
When he felt himself die, it was almost like he was in limbo. He couldn't tell if his body was being moved around, or even if he was being brought back to life. He definitely felt it though when he was stitched. Cameron's brain pounded like a hammer.
He should've found something to kill his damn brain too.
A thought struck though. With major concentration and minor help from Kirsten not focusing well inside the stitch, he fought back against the stitching algorithm, putting out the memory of him in the hospital.
Maggie said Cameron couldn't tell Kirsten about their first meeting; she didn't say he couldn't show her.
