The Fight

"Who the hell does she think she is?! I thought she was my friend but she's just a back-stabbing bitch like every other girl!" Alice yells while breaking toothpicks and ripping up paper.

"I don't understand where Kat comes into this?" I ask. Supposedly, Kat, Robin and Alice are all in a huge fight. Every time they see each other, they start yelling and pulling hair.
"Kat knew and kept it a fucking secret. She's a back-stabber too! God I just want to rip out her intestines and hang her with them! And Robin too since I hate her as well!" Alice grumbles, while Grayson walks in.
"I tried talking to Kat and she hit me." It was then that I noticed the red handprint on his cheek.

"Matty, what am I gonna do?" Alice whispers, stopping her shredding and breaking. I pat her back.
"I'm sure Robin and Kat have a reason for why they did this." I say sincerely.
"Matty, Robin slept with Oliver and Kat knew. What sort of reason would be good enough for her to sleep with the guy I loved?" Alice asks. She's crying now.

I leave her to Gray, and I head off to Robins house. Sure, what she did broke every rule in the friend book or whatever, but we should hear her side of the story. Robin wouldn't do this to purposely hurt Alice. I know that for a fact.

When I get to her house, I knock three times and Robin answers the door. Her hair is in a knot on top of her head, her makeup is trailing down her face, she's wearing an oversized white t-shirt with chocolate stains on it, with no pants. She's definitely regretting it.
Before I can say anything, she pulls me inside up to her bedroom. She sets me down on her bed and she keeps the lights off and curtains closed.

"Matty, you know Alice and Kat are my best friends right?" She asks. I nod, even though she probably couldn't see me.
"And you know I wouldn't do anything to hurt them?" Her voice trembles. I nod once more.
"I did a horrible thing Matty." She sobs.
"I- I'm such a horrible friend! I get so drunk I can't tell a horse from a person- and- and I fuck Oliver! Of all people! I fuck the one guy that I hate with a passion because of what he did to my best friend. And then- then, I drag Kat into it and make her keep it a secret. I didn't know I was hurting her too! I never wanted any of this to happen! I want to be friends with everyone again! I want to get high and laugh and eat tacos together! I want to watch stupid movies and listen to awesome music and I want to be with everyone again! I want to be a better person! I want to be with you and Kat and Alice and maybe even Grayson! I don't want to be friendless! I don't want to be alone! Matty I'm so sorry I did this! Please- Please don't hate me. Please tell me I have another chance to make things right. . . Please." She yells sobbing and crying and hiccuping. I pull her into a hug and she squeezes me so tightly I can barley breathe.

"Go tell everything to Alice and Kat." I say. She pulls away and wipes her eyes with her shirt.
"They won't listen to me." She mutters taking in a deep and shaky breathe.
"I'll help." I say confidently. She looks up at me with her pale gray eyes, her bottom lip trembling.
"You will?" She asks. I nod and she lets out a small smile.

She quickly pulls on a pair of skinny jeans and wipes all her makeup off. I text Kat and tell her I'm picking her up.
When she gets in the car, she tries to get back out, but I lock the door. The whole ride to Alice's house was filled with Kat's yelling. I drag both girls into the house, and now Alice is yelling. I shove them all into Alice's room with help from Grayson and we both go downstairs to the kitchen.
I throw him a coke and grab one for myself.
"This is huge." I say taking a sip.
"Tell me about it. It's fuckin nuts." He says glaring at the counter. I look at his eyes and they are a dark green. A smirk flashes on his lips, but disappears as soon as it's there. I sigh. I already know where this is going.
"What are you thinking, Grayson?"
"I'm gonna pay our friend Oliver a visit."
"Not now." I sigh once again. This isn't going to end well. He replies with a glare.

Suddenly, we hear the door from upstairs open. We snap our heads toward the staircase and Kat is the first to come down. Her cheeks are red and her eyes are watery. Next is Robin who looks the same way. Then Alice, who's blonde hair is all over the place, face  red and her eye makeup trailing down her cheeks. All three stop in front of us. I look at them questionably. Did they make up? Or no?

"I- We just have one question." Alice starts out, sniveling. Wait did Gray and I do something too?! I glance over to Gray for answers, but he also looks confused.
"Yeah?" I ask.

"Who's your girlfriend of the week?" They all ask at the same time. Then, we all start to laugh. We laugh and hug each other and cry from laughing. We all grab a soda and take a seat on the couch and put on "It" by Stephen King. And just as the movie is about to start I say something that makes everyone start to laugh again.

"It's Veronica."
