A/N: The video is the song in this story. This may be a little sad but it ends happy I promise....maybe. MUAHAHAHA ! (I am obviously very weird...)
The wind was raging outside the (g/p) cabin. You could see the gray clouds moving across the sky. Rain was pouring down hard, keeping you inside, alone. (Most of) your sibling(s) had gone home during the school year.*if you are the only one or only have one sibling ignore this sentence:* The rest had went to the winter party being thrown in the Apollo cabin(if you are a child of Apollo then the Aphrodite cabin). You sat on your bed with your favorite book, _______, and a (f/c) blanket. Lately, you had been feeling really lonely. You felt like you had no one to hang out with or spend time with or, really, do anything. The boredom wasn't helping either. You had been out of inspiration to write or draw, and because of the weather, training was canceled. So much for a festive holiday.
Maybe some music would help! You started to take out the monster-proof ipod Leo gave you and attached your (f/c) earphones. You had thought about talking to Leo, but he was probably acting crazy at the party. He, being one of your best friends, had tried to convince you to go to the party, but you had politely declined. Socializing just wasn't your thing.
You put your earphones in your ears and scrolled through your music. A bunch of Christmas songs popped up(sorry if you don't celebrate Christmas) but you decided to scroll past them. A song popped up called "Isn't this a Lovely Day" by Ella Fitzgerald and Lois Armstrong.( I apologize I am a jazz geek :)How ironic, you thought, but you decided to listen to it anyways.
The weather is frightening
The thunder and lightning
seem to be getting their way.
But as far as I'm concerned,
it's a lovely day!
This change in the weather
will keep us together
so I can honestly say
that as far as I'm concerned,
it's a lovely day...
Well at least the song wasn't over-the-top happy. It just wouldn't have fit your mood. A knock on the door stirred you from your thoughts. You swung your legs off the bed and proceeded to get up. Who the Hades would be out in this weather? You pulled open the door to see none other than the son of Hades.
"Uh, hi?" You said.
"Um, could I come in the cabin? If you didn't notice, it's pouring rain outside."
"Oh, um, sure."
You stepped aside and Nico walked past you. After you had gotten him a towel and you were both sitting down, you said, "So did you need something?"
He hesitated for a moment before replying, "No. No I don't need anything."
It was silent for awhile. Then, you decided to put your earbuds back in and listen to the rest of the song; this was getting a little awkward.
"What are you listening to?" Nico said as he looked over your shoulder to see your screen."You listen to jazz and swing?!" He asked. "That's what Bianca and I used to listen to when we were young. You know, back in the 40's." You had heard about how Nico and his sister, Bianca, had been put in the magical Lotus Hotel when they were young. It must feel awkward, being from a different era.
"Uhh. Yeah! I guess..." you answered.
"I-I'm sorry," Nico said, getting up, "is this too weird? I should just go." He got up but you grabbed his hand and said, "No, it's okay! I'm awkward, too."
"Oh. Okay. Then do you mind if I listen, too?" he asked.
"Of course you can!" And you and Nico stayed in your cabin, listening to music, until the day was over.
Sorry if that sucked. Please tell me if you liked it!
