It's been 2 months since he left us, fighting for our survival was all he wanted, i have turned 12 since he left, we all celebrated my birthday with a cake that Alicia made for us.
It has been 4 years since he found me. I was crying for my dad who had been laying on the ground barely breathing because he got bit by those monsters trying to protect me.
We all forget what it was like back before the apocalypse, we try to remember as hard as we can to think about the good times we had.
I can only remember going on a family trip with dad and mum shortly before all hell broke loose.
We were going north 2 hours from home to a nice looking city to visit my aunt.
We arrived there with my aunt greeting me with a soft kiss on the forehead.
"How are you young Annie?" Aunt asked me.
"I'm fine" i said back to her.
"You've grown so much, last time i saw you, you were about yeigh big," putting her hand near her knee.
I smiled, aunt then brought us inside to sit down and have a coffee or a tea. Aunt then went on talking to mum and dad which i completely zoned out for.
i came back to my senses and there was an awkward silence between them.
"How's uncle? last time i heard he was really sick," i asked to break the silence.
"Oh, he's not doing so good young one, he keeps getting sicker and sicker as the days go by," aunt answered.
"That's not good." I said back.
"Apparently he has some kind of wildfire virus that's been going around the world the past few weeks!" aunt exclaimed.
"is it okay if we go and check on him?" i asked politely.
"Sure how about we all go and see him, he is in bed sleeping at the moment," aunt replied.
We all went down the hallway to the end bedroom where uncle was sleeping.
I opened the door and saw uncle standing up on the opposite side of the bed staring at the wall.
Mum walked past me and greeted uncle by saying "hey Dave, looks like your out of bed and feeling better!"
He didn't answer her and instead let out a slight groan which mum didn't like.
She walked up to uncle and put her hand on his shoulder.
"It's rude not to answer people Dave, you should know better." She said.
Again she still got no reply, instead she turned around to us who were all standing at the doorway and showed us her hand, it was covered in very dark red blood.
She freaked out and started wiping the blood on her shirt and scrunching her face saying "ew" repeatedly.
Aunt rushed over to help her but before she could get the the other side of the bed uncle lunged at mum sinking his teeth into her shoulder biting her.
"AHHH" mum screamed as dad rushed over to uncle pinning him to the ground.
"WHY DID YOU DO THAT?" he yelled at the top of his voice at uncle.
By this point i had climbed onto the bed watching uncle try to nip and claw at dad, dad was in the army for a long time so it wasn't going to be easy for uncle to get out of the pin.
I could see that uncle's eyes were bloodshot red and his face was pure white almost as if he was dead.
Aunt took mum out of the room and into the lounge room and sat her down onto the sofa then came running back into the bedroom.
