Justin's POV. {At the Christams tree finding}

"Hey, Pa?" I caught up with his wheelchair. He tilted his head upwardly slightly and raised his eyebrows. "Have you seen Alexis around?" "Alexis?" He questions stunned. "Yes." His wrinkly eyebrows came together this time. "I don't know any Alexis." "Pa, yes you do. She's my wife. Remember you saw her earlier today?" "No no. I have seen any girl today." I sighed. His memory is losing itself more and more..

I was leant against a table of mini trees with my head ducked when I felt familiar thin arms circle my neck. Alexis's soft hair tickled my neck as her head rested in the crook of it and she left a small kiss on my shoulder. It was shocking that she was even near me right now. "What's wrong?" She mumbled concerned. I sighed and gratefully wrapped my arms around her back. "Nothing." "Liar. Please tell me." It's impossible for any man to resist her sparkling orbs when she gives her innocent look. "My great grandfather is getting worse and I'm afraid of losing him." Immediately she gently pulled back and scanned my facial features. I was heartbroken, sad.. terrified. Alexis pressed a longing kiss to my cheek and held me tighter. She understood. And she was the only thing that could keep me from exploding right now. I need my wife through all obstacles and hardships; no matter what happens. "I need you, Alexis. I need my wife right now." I stated, interrupting her beginning words. Without minding that she nodded and tilted my chin, taking my forehead off hers and planting a firm kiss to my lips. "I'm always here, Justin," This time she switched our spots and hopped onto the table. She wrapped her legs around my waist, arms still in the same position on my neck, and allowed our foreheads to support one another. "I love you." "I love you too. But why are you doing this? You've avoided me all day." "You trying being violated like I was. It's not pleasant at all and it makes me feel afraid around everyone. Not to mention the guilt that I cheated on you. I always swore that I'd be faithful." My current frown increased and I brought my hands to Alexis's cheeks. "Baby, none of us will ever hurt you. And I know you're shooken up but no matter what you have to at least trust me at all times. Not because you'll always be safe with me but because you're my everything and I'd never truly hurt you purposely. Also, this cheating you believe of, it's not real. You didn't actually cheat. So just trust me on this, on everything." Nodding, Alexis faintly gave me one more kiss and dropped her head to my chest. "Merry Christmas." She then barely murmured. "Merry Christmas, Love." And from there on we stayed like that, only departing when my family announced it was time to go.

When we arrived back to my uncles home everyone separated in different directions. My uncle and aunt dragged the fresh tree to the living room to prepare it and most others went to their rooms to redress. My great grandfather would be with us in an hour after the nursing home was finished with his nightly treatment. I followed Alexis up the staircase into our temporary room, staying in my current clothes while watching her change to her comfortabler ones. To this day it still adores me how she looks like an innocent, precise, angel at all times. It was like the obsession you get over a puppy.

Later on we gathered with everyone in the living room and seated as things situated. From behind I wrapped Alexis in a blanket and sat against the fireplace's edge with her between my legs, back to my chest and my arms around her waist. I don't think she knew this, but I had made time to get her a gift. I just really hope she hadn't gotten me anything; I love her gifts but she's all I need. "Justin, do you wanna go first?" My mom suddenly asked, making me advert my gaze to her. "I'll just go near the end." She nodded and bent back down to the pile of gifts. Meanwhile, Alexis shifted and cuddled into my chest, confusion steady on her face. She soon shook it off and combined her eyelids instead of questioning me though. I kept silent and just stroked her hair until present opening began.

"Justin can go nex-" My aunt was interrupted when she noticed Alexis pushing away from me, hand over her mouth. My mom, aunt, and I quickly followed her. I halted directly behind her once she dropped to her knees in the bathroom and took her bundle I hair into my grasp. It's all I could do until she was done vomitting. I would have thought immediately she was pregnant if it wasn't for what the hospital had said. "Are you sick, Sweetie?" My aunt asked after Alexis flushed. But she only hid in my chest with watery eyes. "What did you eat today?" I questioned in her ear. "You s-saw." "Only that? Alright. But what's wrong then?" "I don't know. Maybe just a moment of sickness." "Tell us if anything changes." I sighed quietly, sharing a glance with my mom, and rubbed Alexis's arms. I was tired of seeing her sick or even just the one moment sicknesses. There's no explanation for it all. Not yet at least.

We were now curling up together on the floor again while the gift opening was coming to an end. All that was left was Alexis's present. My mom silently handed it to me and remained to her spot on the hard ground. I set the light box in Alexis's lap and signaled her to open her eyes by stroking her soft cheek. Slowly, she managed to part her eyelids. "It's time for yours, Baby. But only if you feel fine enough." After gently easing up she grasped the box and tore the wrapping paper off. She threw that aside and carefully lifted the hatch of the cardboard box. Surprisingly all the box contained was an envelope. "I want you to open it later on alone." I informed in her ear before she could ask questions. She nodded and set the box back on her lap, cuddling back into me. Minutes later the wrapping paper trash was thrown away and presents were put away so we all headed to bed. My uncle took my great grandpa to the nursing home while we all settled. And I had a feeling this may be the last time I see him.
