Chapter 2)
**Annas POV**
"ANNNNAAAA!!!!" My demanding moms voice rang through the air. ugh what could she possibly need now? I was just with her! Shes crazy I swear.
"What mother?" It was hard to keep the annoyance out of my mouth, and I knew I would pay for it.
"What's with your attitude? Calm it or you're grounded for a week." Her shrill voice rang throughout my ears for too long. I hated the sound of her voice, but she never stopped talking. "You need to go pick up Jason from school." I sighed as a grabbed the keys for her car and left.
She always made me do shit like this. She was barely a mother. I was always the one cooking, cleaning, running errands, bringing Jason to and from school, running him to baseball, and friends' houses. It was always me. I am only 18, and I'm like Jason's mom.
Why don't I move out, you ask? I have three good reasons why I have to stay here.
1) Jason will have nobody to take care of him if I leave.
2) My dad's house isn't big enough for us.
3) I have nowhere to go.
All of my family is either dead, or wants nothing to do with me and my mother. Mom has no family left, and after she left dad none of his family wants anything to do with us. I like visting him though. Its an escape from responsibilites. I always tell him how much I hate it at mom's, and he always tells me it will get better.
"ANNA." I hear Jason yell as he runs to the car. "Dad's here and says he wants us to come over for dinner." His little 9 year old voice squeals with excitement.
"Where is he?" I look around, and see my dad in the car behind us. I quickly get out of my car and run to his, hugging him through the window. "Jason said you wanted us to come over?" I ask surprised.
"Yes, I do actually. I'm having other guests over, and they'd be delighted to meet you. They even have a son who is about your age, Anna." He winks in my direction. Oh god... My dad's trying to play match maker.

"Anna, this is Ricky. Ricky, this is my beautiful daughter, Anna." My dad introduced me to the handsome boy infront of me. He was way better looking than dad described him.
"Well hello Anna." His deep voice rang throughout my ears. I think I detect a small lisp. I don't even care. He's beyond cute. My dad was telling me how funny he is too. Just my type.
"Hi Ricky. Its nice to meet you." I stick my hand out to shake his, but instead he pulls me into a hug.
"I'm more of a huggy person." He says, and I was right. He has a lisp. but its the cutest thing ever. I laugh at his comment. He is pretty funny.
All throughout dinner we laughed, and made jokes. Ricky even made friends with jason, which is a plus. I'm pretty sure Ricky might have been trying to flirt with me some too. But I'm not sure, because I am so god damn awkward.
The Dillon's left Dad's house at about 9, and as if on que, my phone rings. "Oh look, its the devil." I say reading my moms name off the screen. My dad flicks me on the forehead and gives me a look of disapproval as I answer the phone.
A: Hello?
M: Where the hell are you and Jason? I have been waiting around all night for you two! Im hungry, and now cranky.
A: You're always cranky
M: What was that?
A: Nothing, I just said dad was at Jason's school, and wanted us to come to his house for dinner. He had some people he wanted us to meet.
M: It better not have been a boy your age. You're not allowed to date.
A: Mom, I am 18. I can do what I want. And for your info, it was a boy my age.
I clicked end on my phone and sat back down at the kitchen table.
"Anna, you're too stressed out for an 18 year old. You need to live a little." My dad said as he sat down next to me at the table.
"I know I do. But mom... Jason.. I have responsibilites dad. Its not easy." A certain sadness in my voices echoes as I speak.
"Responsibilites a normal 18 year old shouldn't have. Ricky's mother texted me, and said he was really into you. I think you guys should go out sometime. One night a week. If things don't work out, they don't work out. But I have a feeling they will. Will you please see him again?" My dad pleads. I have no idea why he wants me to be with Ricky so badly, but then again I do. Because for some reason, I WANT to be with him. I reach for my phone, and open a text to him.
'I had fun tonight, want to hang again soon?' I click send.
"Anna, you're always talking about how you need your forever. I agree, you do. You need to get out of here, and experience things normal people do. And honestly, I think Ricky may be your forever." He kisses my forehead as he stands up, "I think it's time you guys go home, your mom will be waiting."
I can't help but to rethink everything my dad has said to me. Could Ricky really be my forever? Right then my phone buzzed with a text from him.
'Of course! Are you busy tuesday?'
I respond, 'No, may have to babysit. Ill get back to you.'
Maybe he really is my forever.
