Rydel's POV
I was finishing up getting ready when there was a knock on the door. So I went downstairs to get it knowing it was Ellington, but unfortunately my dad had already answered the door. With a baseball bat.
Ellington's POV
Mark answered the door with a baseball bat, A freakin baseball bat!! I was really scared, until I saw Rydel. She looked gorgeous. Her beautiful curls, her amazing dress, her perfect face. And then I saw her brothers trying to be scary. But I wasn't going to let her brothers ruin the mood. So I walked over to Rydel and gave her the flowers I had bought her.
"Thank you Ellington!" She said, the excitement very clear in her voice.
"You're welcome! So you ready to go?" I asked her
"Yep!" She exclaimed popping the P. "Alrighty then, let's go!!" I said very eagerly, grabbing Rydel's hand and heading out the door.
Rydel's POV
We got in his car and drove off to a nice restaurant where unfortunately the food wasn't very good. And then we went to see a movie which sadly wasn't very good either.
"So this night hasn't been the best so far, has it?" Ellington said while he was driving.
"Not really" I giggled, "Wait, so far? What do you mean." I said really confused I thought the movie was it.
"You just wait and see" Ellington said mysteriously.
"What?!"Ellingtoooon tell meeeee!!!" I whined, he didn't budge.
"It's a surprise, I'm not telling you" He laughed.
"Fine. I'm ju-" I started before he interrupted me, "We're here." He brought me to Amoeba!!
"Aww Ellington" I hugged him super tight, I had to stand on my tiptoes because I was wearing converse and he is taller than me. We went inside and he decided to buy me my first record, Awesome!!! Now I thought this was the end of the night.
"So we're going home now?" I asked him. He shook his head, I thought this was it. Where else is he taking me.
"What? I thought that was it." I told him. I guess I was wrong
"Nope, we're going to one more place." He said smiling.
"Tell me Ellingtoooon!!" I whined and whined.
"I'm not telling you, that's the whole point of a surprise! Don't you know what a surprise is??" He is such a tease!!
Ellington's POV
After a lot of giggles, we finally made it to the beach. It was already dark, so you could see the stars. We lied down on the hood of my car and counted the stars while we listened to the airplanes.
"Hey Ell," "Yeah" I said as I grabbed her hand "Thank you for tonight." I turned to see her beautiful eyes looking into mine.
"Thank YOU." I said as I smiled. She started giggling and it was so cute. I then kissed her nose and she started giggling even more which was even cuter.
"You're welcome." She said through giggles. We just laid there looking into each other's eyes and smiling. There was a minute of silence but it wasn't awkward it was more peaceful. Everything was just perfect.
"Hey what time is it?" Rydel asked me.
"It's 9:40. You know I hate to end this but, I should be taking you home" I told her as a frown formed on her face.
"Why??"She whined
"Because it's getting pretty late and your brothers and dad are gonna get worried" I explained to her.
"Alright fine." She pouted.
"C'mon its not like you won't see me anymore. Cheer up!" I smiled at her.
"Yeah I know, but I don't want this night to end." She looked at me with the cutest face.
"Me either, but we should go"
"Okay" she said as she got in the car.
"Hey but wasn't tonight fun though?"
"Yeah it really was" she said as she smiled.
20 minutes later

Rydel's POV
"We're here" Ell said turning off the car.
"Can't we just go to your house?" I pouted.
"Rydel" he said in a slightly stern tone.
"Fine" I sighed getting out of the car and shutting the door while Ellington came around the other side. We walked hand in hand to the door but I didn't open it. Instead I turned to Ellington.
"Ell, thanks for the best first date ever" I told him with a smile on my face.
"Even though the food and the movie sucked" he asked me.
"Yeah, even though that sucked."
We just stood there holding hands smiling at each other with a small gap between us but that gap was closed by Ellington softly pressing his lips onto mine. Our lips moved in synchronized motion. When we pulled apart he smiled at me and said "You know, you should be getting inside. You don't want to worry your parents do you"
"Yeah." I said turning the door handle. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow" I told him, seeing as he was most likely coming over, and he nodded.
"Bye" he waved, I just waved and closed the door.
And with that ended one of the most magical nights of my life.
