XLI: The Open Seas

The heroes were in the bottom of the ship. Shard was asleep in one of the beds down there. Sky sat next to him, reading a book. On another bed, Lxve and Alice II were playing a game, and Kaizen was forced to watch them.

"How did we get him to fall asleep, anyway?" Leah said to Sky.

"Simple."

Five minutes ago....

"LET ME OFF RIGHT NOW!!!!" Shard yelled.

"DAMMIT SHARD STAY STILL!!!" Leah said as she pinned down his neck.

"SKY GET OVER HERE AND HELP!!!" Alice II said. Sky came over and looked at Shard in the eyes.

"Come on guys, that's not how he'll stay calm." Sky said. "She gave Shard a tight hug, causing Shard to not only calm down, but fall asleep. The power of love, everyone.

Present..

Shard slept like a cat, curled up in the blankets, snoring softly. Sky patted his head and went back to her book.

"How long until we get there, now?" Lxve asked. Leah looked at her watch.

"About a few hours." Leah said. So I suggest everyone rest up because once we get there, we're going to hike and set camp."

"Do we really have to do all that?" King said as he walked down the stairs, apparently disappointed.

"Yes, King. So stop whining." Lxve said, laughing.

"I'm not whining! I'm just not in the building mood."

"Sure."

A few hours passed, and our heroes landed on Paradise Isle, but much to their surprise....

"Hey, what's up with all the plants?" Alice II said. All the trees and plants were a blue-green color, as if they were frozen.

"Shard, wake up. We're here." Sky said, Shard halfway slung over her shoulder.

"Zzz..nyah....." Shard mumbled as his tail swung around.

"Shard wake up or else I'll use my ice rain attack." Leah said. Shard woke up immediately.

"No!" Shard said nervously. "Last time you used it I had to stay in bed for a month because of sickness."

Some time later, the camp was set and the heroes soon began to relax. However, none of them noticed the lurking in the shadows of Paradise.

Next time: things begin to heat up!
