Introduction: This is my first story I've ever written and it's not done yet but I'll do my best to finish it. Let me know if you have any suggestions because it might get boring at parts. It's your typical summer romance story. I'd like some feedback:)
Chapter 1
It was the first day of summer and my best friend Mary and I were just hours away from arriving to our beach house in Tampa, Florida. Hours away from what is to be the best summer of our lives.
My name is Sarah Rocco and I am 17 years old. I have two brothers; John, 18 years old, and Patrick, 16 years old. I’m from Chicago, Illinois and I would be lost without my best friend Mary. We went to preschool together but we attended different grade schools so I lost touch with her until high school. When I started running cross country my sophomore year we became best friends again. Mary and I have been through so much together that she is basically my sister, which is why she comes on vacation with me. We always have a blast together, but little did we know this was about to be the most exciting, drama filled summer we will ever experience.
The sun was gleaming through the plane windows as we approached the airport. The clear blue ocean matched my eyes, according to Mary. We finally landed after what seemed like an eternity and got off the plane.
“Sarah let’s go! The beach is calling us and we still need to unpack!” Mary shouted.
“Alright, alright! Dad, we’ll meet you at the house because Mary can’t seem to control her excitement,” I laughed.
I took one step into the house and had a rush of déjà vu flow through me. It had been 5 years since I’ve been here and I remembered it as if it were yesterday. The first person I thought of that came to mind when I entered the house was Jake. I haven’t seen him since but I wasn’t going to get my hopes up that I would unexpectedly run into him this summer. I didn’t even realize that I was looking off into space thinking of all the memories until Mary started waving her arms in front of my face.
“Well are you just gonna stand there all day or come unpack!?” Mary exclaimed.
“Sorry, just got a little caught up in the moment. Let’s put all this shit away and head to the beach!”
“That’s more like it!”
Once we finished putting away our new cute summer outfits we bolted out the door with our bathing suit, jean shorts, tank top, and sunglasses on.
“Where are you two off to already?” inquired my dad with a laugh.
“Dad, do you even need to ask?” I asked with a grin.
After hearing my dad laugh I knew that was the okay to proceed to the beach.
Chapter 2
I felt the sun beating down onto my shoulders as Mary and I proceeded to find a spot on the beach. We found a spot near a group of guys and sat down. We started setting up our stuff to mark our place when a familiar looking guy came up to us.
“Hey! You girls want to play some sand volleyball with us? We need two more people and you guys would make the teams complete!” he said. This guy had a perfect tan, sandy blonde colored hair, and bright green eyes. After convincing us to play he flashed us a big grin with dimples on both sides.
