Thursday, the 10th September, 10:56 am.
(Y/n)'s current dwelling hive.

The morning sun rose outside your window, the stars slowly dissapearing in the light orange colors, the clouds looking like pink cotton candy. Your curtains were shut, yet not enough to keep the soft orange ray out of your gloomy room. You just woke up, opening your eyes a tiny bit, as you heard your step-mother walk into your room. As soon as you sat up, she already started talking, but not speaking words of wisdom. More like speaking words that felt like a dagger to your heart. "(Y/n), I have to tell you something. Since school starts in three days it's time to tell you... You're going to an intern school, a-k-a a school where you're going to sleep. Means you won't be here for the week-ends or other usual days in a week." Then she turned around and stepped out. How much she was not like your mother. But... Wait. What?

Still sleepdrunk, you blinked then laughed. Ah, this was sure something funny, wasn't it? You didn't even know that your step-mom could make jokes about something, with her usual stoic attitude. You just sat there giggling until she came back in, dropping some huge bags for you. "Now get packing." You now stared at her completly speechlessly. What the fuck was going on? Wait. This was not a ducking joke?!

After half an hour of crying your eyes out, you decided to accept the truth and pack up your stuff. You threw your clothes, your books, and all your electronic stuff into the bags, not to forget your bunny plushs. You shivered a bit as you noticed how empty your room looked now... Then you got your things into a corner. "Hunny, it's time for lunch." Is what your dad called. Slowly, and without any hope of curing this situation, you stepped downstairs into the kitchen, flopped down onto your usual chair and ate whatever your "beloved" step-mom made for you. She and your actual father acted like if there was nothing wrong, until your dad spoke up: "I am going to get you there this evening hun." They didn't even bother telling you why this was happening, like if it was totally normal. Like if they would destroy your whole life every second day.

Kankri yawned quietly, waiting for Karkat to get finally ready. "Karkat, I told you that we would go around this time. It seems that you didn't quite listen to what I told you about packing your stuff up so we won't be impolitely late to the grand opening of the new year in this school." Karkat let out a low growl and threw his bags into the car. "Dude, fuck off. I don't even give a fuck if we're going to be late. I hate that school anyways!" "My dear Karkat, please watch your mouth and your language. This might appear offensive towards some people-" "You're literally the only one bothered by it!" He jumped onto one of the front seats. "Now finally drive me to hell!" Kankri rolled his eyes and fell onto the driver's seat. "You sure are a grumpy one, aren't you."

You sat in the back of your dad's car. You would arrive anywhen soon at your "new school". This is so wrong, so so wrong. That's when he drived by the school: Huge white buildings, gardens, trees, red roofs shining through, a grey way... And two people standing there getting out of a car. One of them seemed to freeze in the autumn wind, wearing a red sweater and talking to someone who looked smaller then him, yet quite similar. He looked so bugged out by everythng that happened. You didn't feel bothered by the fact that they had grey skin or that they had horns, you just kind of got used to seeing people "by their real face" now. It was something you could since when you were a little child, seeing through masquerades. You got out from the car, a cold breeze hitting your face. You took your bags and got out of the car, slamming the door behind you without a word of goodbye to your father.

You walked towards those people standing there. Since they were the only ones around, you would have to ask them where to go. You seemed to be pretty late since everyone was already gone... And since the one with a grey sweater seemed so so grumpy, you looked up at the older one of both. He was a head taller then you, with red eyes. You could see his human covering fading away slowly the more you looked at him, until you asked bluntly: "Hey, what species are you exactly? Usually I don't see guys with grey skin running around."
