"Jim it's time for your first day of your new primary school!" yelled mum as I wearily opened my eyes. "Jim come on we don't want to be late on the first day!" yelled mum. "Coming mum I'm just getting my clothes ok?" I yelled back. "And I have breakfast ready, it's your favourite, Pancakes!" said mum. With the word 'Pancakes' I was straight up and flew down the stairs. "You excited for today?" asked mum. "Of course I am! It's time to make new friends!" I said excitedly. I had just moved into my new home in Australia because the country I came from has broken out war. I am 11 years old and in year five. After I had finished breakfast it was time to go. I was lucky because I lived so close to school I could walk there! I arrived at school and it was only a small quiet school with about 90 – 100 kids there. I was greeted very kindly by almost all the kids except for one. At first sight I knew he was bad news. It was time for class and it turns out he's in all my classes too which I think will be very good because we could get to know each other and try and be friends. He came up to me at the end of lunch too, I was expecting him to greet me. "YOU STAY OUTTA MY WAY 'Jim' OK! I DON'T LIKE NEW KIDS COMING INTO THIS SCHOOL AND IF YA GET IN MY WAY, YOU BETTER WATCH YOURSELF! GOT IT!?!?!" He screamed in my face. And with that the bell rang and it was class time again. He kept giving me dirty looks throughout the day and then it was home time and I was glad too because he was starting to get on my nerves big time. I got home and couldn't stop thinking about what he said. Like, what's his problem? I mean no harm to him! Maybe he was just having a bad day and I'll try to forget about it for now. "Dinners ready!" yelled mum. "Coming mum!" I yelled as I came bounding down the stairs. "How was your day today?" Asked mum as I was eating my dinner. "Yeah it was great! Everyone is so friendly there! Well almost everyone, there's this one kid but I think he was just in a bad mood today and hopefully will be better tomorrow!" I replied. "Well if he gives you any trouble be sure to tell a teacher and -" "I know, I know!" I said, cutting her off before she went into one of her rants. "Well its eight-thirty and you should be going to bed now Jim." Said mum. "Ok mum, goodnight!" I said as I got up and took my plate to the sink. "See you tomorrow, and if you could, could we have pancakes in the morning again please?" I said as I was going upstairs. "Ok Jim, now go get into bed!" replied mum.
