Warning: very angsty.

They swerved. They crashed. Only two survived.

Hikaru, the eldest twin, had been rushed to the emergency room as fast as possible. Kaoru, the youngest twin, had a broken arm and a few fractured bones. Before they could crash, Hikaru had put his body in front of Kaoru to make sure he didn't get hurt. Sadly, Hikaru was now severely injured and is on the verge of death.

After the youngest twin was able to move around, he was wheeled into his brother's room. He saw Hikaru on the bed with his eyes straining to stay open and tubes running from his arms.

"Hikaru!" Kaoru shouted reaching for his brother's hand.

"Hikaru. I'm so sorry." Kaoru sobbed.

"What do you have to be sorry for? The other guy was the one to drive intoxicated." Hikaru said laughing a bit.

"Hikaru, please, don't die on me. I need you in my life. I have no idea what I'd do without you here." Kaoru said looking deep into his brother's eyes.

"Kaoru, you're being silly. I'm not going to die. Just look at the monitor. I'll be fine." Hikaru said smiling.

Kaoru looks at his brother's heart monitor to see it's going at an unhealthy slow pace.

"Hikaru, your heart beat is so slow." Kaoru sobs.

"Really? I feel just fine." Hikaru says weakly.

"Hikaru, please." Kaoru begs.

Hikaru had tried to distract Kaoru. He knew he was dying and he felt like he couldn't move. He knows that a piece of glass had punctured his stomach and that he won't get to live long.

"Kaoru, I don't want to die either, but I want you to know that I love you. And also, please tell (Y/N) that I've had feelings for her." Hikaru says softly.

"No, I can't do that. I can't because you're going to do that. Remember? You told me that you would tell her at the end of the school year. Remember, Hikaru?" Kaoru was desperately sobbing.

"Oh, Kaoru. You're always so full of hope. That's one thing I loved about you." Hikaru said caressing his brother's face.

"Hikaru, I need to tell you that I love you. More than a brother. I love you so much! So please don't die?!" Kaoru was so desperate.

"Kaoru, I'm not really going anywhere. Just think about it. My spirit will be all around you. I'll be in your heart." Hikaru said even softer.

"Hikaru!!! Please!!!! Don't die!!!! I- I need you!!!!" Kaoru shouted.

Hikaru smiled and said "And I need you too. But most of all, I need you to live a happy life. I know I did."

"Hikaru!!!"

And that was when the heart monitor held it's continuous beep.

Kaoru cried and held his beloved brother's hand in his own. He sobbed so hard that it became difficult to breathe at times. His brother was gone and he was all he had left. He was to protect himself. He was to talk to no one else when he really needed to say something. He was expected to be alone now. Hikaru has been there all of his life and now he's gone. His brother, his best friend, his love, his heart had all disappeared right before his very own eyes.

The day of the funeral, he couldn't cry. His eyes were all too dry. When he was about to say his speech about his brother, he had been monotone. All throughout his speech, he was he was quiet and monotone. And after his speech, he was monotone. He couldn't feel anything except emptiness.
