MONSTA X (Korean:몬스타엑스) is a South Korean boy group under Starship Entertainment. The members consists of Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon and I.M. They officially debuted with the release of their first mini album: "Trespass" on May 7 2015; and held their debut stage on Mnet's M! Countdown with their titletrack "Trespass" on the same day.
- Meaning of the group's name: Their name signifies the emergence of a monster who will dominate the Kpop scene, as well as the meaning of 'My star', as 'Mon' means 'my' in French.
- In 2014, reality survival program "No.Mercy", was created under the Starship Entertainment. The participants are the 12 trainees of the company: Shownu, Wonho, Kwangji, Kihyun, Minhyuk, Yoosu, Hyungwon, #Gun, Jooheon, Minkyun, Yoonho and Seokwon. And on episode 8, I.M was added. MONSTA X has 7 spots and the spots are given to Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Hyungwon, Jooheon and I.M through judges votes (50%) and audience votes (50%).
