- Kendra's POV -
"Freshmen please gather around me," said one of the sophomore students. Since this is one of the campus club and there were limited amount of seniors around, sophomores are the ones responsible in 'orientating' freshmen. Nah, they just don't want to miss the chance of pranking the freshmen.
Let me explain a bit. In this campus, there are several orientation. One is from the campus and another is if you join a club like a book club, discussion club (like me), or something like student council. Joining a club is optional, but I do it so I can have something good on my resume in the future. If you didn't join any club, you'll only have one orientation from the campus.
I and all of the other freshmen gathered around a girl with curly brown hair and rosy skin. "I will give you around fifteen minutes to get to know your friends and after that, I will start with the next session. If you want to go to the restroom please give your nametag to the committee waiting outside the hall and make it quick," the girl said.
We all chatted and unconsciously made new friends. So far, I know Sienna, a cute and sweet girl, Melinda, a girl who I took an instant liking to, and Kevan, a nice chatty guy. As I saw the sophomores (committee) preparing for the next session while messing around with each other, I saw a guy working on a laptop with serious expression, not paying any attention to his (supposedly) friends. I guess he felt that someone looking at him because suddenly he looked up and our eyes met.
He had no expression on his face, but there was something in his eyes that lure me in. He then scoffed and looked away and focused back on whatever he's doing with it. How rude!
His kind of people is one of the most irritating people in my book. He thinks he's all that, but in reality, he's not. I secretly glared at him, hoping that he vanish somewhere else, anywhere but here.
"Who are you... whoa, wrong move girl, stop that glare and look at anything else," Melinda said to me as she made me look away from that rude guy. "You know him?" I asked her.
"He used to be in some of my classes," said Melinda. I looked at her incredulously. "You think that I am a freshman are you? No, I'm a junior and so does he," said Melinda.
"What's his name?" I asked, secretly looking back at him still working on the damn laptop. "His name is Tristan Hartford, claimed to be a cold and unapproachable guy," Melinda whispered to me. "I can totally see that," I whispered back to her dryly. Why are we whispering again?
"What got you two whispering to each other?" Someone whispered between us. We looked up to see Sienna with her excited look. I and Melinda looked at each other and shook our heads and smiled innocently. "You do remember that I am in psychology department, right?" She asked us.
"I'd rather not talk about it," I said with a sheepish smile on my face. "Okay then," Sienna said, talking back to Kevan like she had never asked us anything. You think it was weird? Well, join the club.
I decided to go to the restroom, and after that, I walked back to my group, and bumped into someone. I looked up to see Tristan looked down to me. "Watch where you're going, freshman," he said and walked away. I glared at his back, and I felt watched. Turned out most of the committee was looking at me, intrigued. They all looked away when they realized that I was watching them, and pretended to do other things than staring at me. In other situation, I might found this hilarious, but right now I just felt embarrassed.
