A Bond Behind Silence

This is a poem I wrote, to describe what it's like to be in a world of silence, where nobody understands why. I found a heap of amazing friends who symbolise the angel and this describes our relationship.

A world of silence,

A world of darkness,

A world without words,

A world broken.

They torment,

Their words haunting,

Unable to fight back,

A safe place too far away.

She runs toward it,

Towards the trees,

A bond formed so strong,

They whisper to her.

She feels them,

As if she is one,

The wind rustling her leaves.

Words not powerful enough,

Silence and belief the keys.

She feels a presence,

An angel,

It's aura so bright,

So powerful,

She closes her eyes.

She feels its wings,

Covering her,

Offering protection,

From the hatred,

From the darkness.

A companion found,

Someone to connect,

To understand,

And protect.

Someone who cares,

And sees her for who she really is.

Not the girl behind the silence,

Too weak to defend,

Too vulnerable,

So scared,

She believes the torment.

It shows her the truth,

The power within her,

It shows her the strength,

And the compassion held back.

It shows her love,

And a world beyond her own.
