*I think this will be the last 'quick side bit' i'll make*

Okay so, lately i have found a lot of comments from some readers bashing the authors in their OWN STORIES! I mean, hello?! I get it if it's constructive criticism but seriously saying that a story is boring, that it sucks and that it wasn't good enough without telling the reasons why would be utterly stupid. that's not constructive at all, that's just plain insulting. You know what they say, if you can't say anything nice don't bother say anything at all... although at times i do disagree with this because sometimes an author needs to know some errors that she may have overlooked BUT it is very much possible to say it politely, you know. I swear common sense isn't that common anymore. Some people seem to think that just because they (rudely)pointed something out it makes them smarter.

My point is that authors usually love to hear from their readers. What their readers think about their story and how their readers react to their story is rather important to most authors. And sometimes saying things rudely comes off as arrogant and inconsiderate. Even if you meant well, if you said it awfully then well, it will be taken as an insult. It just saddens me that some of what people say are very rude.

So what do you think? What's the best way to criticize a story? Also, are there authors that don't want to get criticized(because some people said there were)?
