The week had gone on smoothly, though Ellie decided to not believe me anymore when I said Chris and I didn't to 'that' , much to my displeasure.

It was the first day of my new job. I stood at the cashier nervously, waiting for the manager to come and explain how the job works.

" Hi, you must be Alice right? "

I looked at the man standing in front of me. He should be in his mid thirties, and may I say he did a good job keeping his body.

His hazel eyes and brown hair made him look like...my dad. I took a good look at him and I realized he and my dad had a resemblance of each other. I still had some memories about my parents, but strangely, I didn't have the memory of how they had died or the memory of my childhood. It didn't occur to me that I had basically, none of the memories of my childhood, I was too busy thinking about my school life, Chris, Ellie and Jason. Why didn't I remember anything about my parents? Did I forget something important?

" Alice? "

I was pulled away from my thoughts and the manager gave me a smile. I had spent the last few minutes staring into space.

" Hi, um, nice to meet you...Mr Danne."

" A pleasure to meet you too, Alice. " He said as he shook my hand. " I'm terribly sorry, there's something urgent going on for me, so I've asked another one of my employees to help you on the first day of your job. "

I nodded and gave him a small smile. I saw a figure coming over and prayed that he or she would be nice.

" Hey boss, I've come to train the newbie just as you said. So who is..."

I stared at the person beside Danne and my eyes widened in shock.

" Alice, this is Bryan. Bryan, this is Alice. Both of you get along. Right, I'll leave Alice in your hands then, Bryan. " Danne smiled, and wished me good luck, before leaving me with Bryan.

" Hey. "

" Hay is for horses. " Bryan joked. I smiled at his effort to make the situation less awkward.

" So lets just start...? "

"Yep sure. "

Bryan started teaching me how the cashier works and what I should do. He even told me about this granny who comes here every Friday to give Bryan homemade chocolate chip cookies. Why does the handsome one gets everything? God was unfair.

Surprisingly, the first day went smoothly and I didn't break anything.

Cue : Me fist pumping in the air which earned looks from everyone and me blushing and not talking unless necessary.

Soon, my shift was over and I prepared to leave.

" Alice! "

I stopped and turned around, surprised to see Bryan running towards me.
