A New Life

Chapter one: The big move

As I put my last box onto the moving van and heard my mother yell out
"Hurry up we were supposed to leave 20 minutes ago!"
I started to run to the car and tried to hold back the tears because I have to move from Florida to California. I hopped in the back seat of the car and used my phone as a distraction from the pain of moving away. After a few more miles we stopped for lunch at subway. I got the usual,ham with lettuce and cheddar cheese and a bag of chips.

Once we got back on the road I leaned up towards the front seat and said
"You know Mom, my 16th birthday is in a week and don't want to drive this old thing"
I said as I patted the seat.
"So, can I get a new car for my birthday? Please please please please, mom can I?"

"If you promise to get an after school job to pay for it then I'll think about it" she explained.
But the problem was I can't get a job in less than a week in a city I've never been to! I'm really upset but I say
"I'll try" to Mom
Most of the ride was silence. About halfway through the ride I am still upset then I remembered my amazing boyfriend, Jason. I decided I would text him.
Me: Hey
Jason: Hi
Me: I'm gonna miss you
Jason: Look we need to talk
Me: About what?
Jason: I don't think long distance
Relationships
Me:Does that mean your breaking up with me?
Jason:I guess
Me:Why don't we try it first
Jason: OK I guess
Me: OK gtg bye
Jason: bye
It started getting dark and mom said
"Where do you want to eat for dinner Kamryn?"
I looked up resteraunts near me and I saw that Applebee's was nearby and that's my favorite restaurant so I suggested that.
When we ate I got a steak and a side salad with sweet tea to drink. Once we got back on the road I fell asleep in the back seat.

When I woke up again the sun was starting to come up. And mom was driving instead of dad. I asked where we were and mom said we were only an hour and a half away. I was excited but nervous about seeing the new house for the first time. I checked my phone to see if Jason texted me and there were no notifications. I decided I would go back to sleep.

I woke up an hour later and we were almost there. We stopped at McDonald's and got buiscuts. I got a bacon,egg,and cheese buiscut. We ate in the car. By the time everybody was done eating we were almost there. We finally pulled into the driveway and the house was beautiful. I was confused about why mom and dad got such a big house if it was only mom, dad, and me. The more ving van got there before us so we started to unload it and unpack. It took a while to upload it but when we finally did I brought all my boxes to my new room. The word new was starting to get on my nerves. My room was a little bit bigger than my old one and we had two guest bedrooms. My closet was twice the size of my old one and that made me so excited. The movers already had my bed up there so I put the blankets and pillows on it. Then I went to sleep. When I woke up I went to check my phone (which is an iPhone 5) and I looked and it wasn't my phone! It was an iPhone 6s and there was a sticky note on it that said
"Since you have been through a lot lately we got you a new phone. Hope you love it❤ mom and dad"
I know I should be excited but with so many new things lately new is starting to be an annoying word. My new phone came with a purple lifeproof case because purple is my favorite color. I walked down the stairs after I got dressed an did my make-up. When I got down there mom and dad were sitting at the table eating bacon and waffles. I wasn't very hungry so I grabbed a piece of bacon and some coffee I'm my plastic Starbucks cup with a lid and a straw.
"Can I drive to school please?" I asked
"I'll ride with you since I don't have to be at work till 9:30" mom volunteers
"OK thanks mom!" I say excitedly. As we go to school mom says
"Are you excited about you first day at a new school?"
"Not really. I miss my old friends," I reply.
"Turn in here" mom says. I turn into the parking lot of my new school. I hopped out of the car with my backpack and my new phone walk to the front doors of my new school.
