I wrapped my arms around myself nervously. 5:25pm. He'd be here any minute.
"Just one more time." I whisperrmed walking into my bathroom, staring at the mirror. I still looked the same as the last time I looked, same hair, same black skinny jeans, same black tank top, same grey shawl.
I looked like a damn librarian. All I needed now was a nerdy pair of glasses and a bitchy expression.
A knock pounded against the front door, echoing through the walls. I let out a shaky breath and walked towards the door, grabbing my phone on the way. I opened it just a crack. yep, next to him I'd DEFINITELY look like a librarian. I inhaled deeply, I was completely speechless.
"You gonna come outside?" He chucked.
Great, I probably looked like a scared little puppy.
"Oh....uh yeah." I nervously stepped outside, closing the door behind me.
Johnnys P.O.V
"Can we watch The Exorsist?" Caroline smirked.
Out of all the movies in the world she had to pick that one. I hated horror movies, I hated ghosts, I just hated the paranormal all together.
"What? Are you scared? Your already shaking and we haven't even started the movie." She giggled.
"Uh no, I'm not scared." I snorted.
"Why are you shaking then?"
"Because....it's cold in here." I avoid her gaze.
"We don't have to watch it I guess...". She glanced down at her feet.
"No, it's fine we can watch The Exorsist." I let out a sigh of defeat.
"Its okay, maybe I should just leave."
"Dont go." I set my hand on her cheek, pulling her face close to mine.
As soon as my lips touched hers she tensed. Her arms shakily rose up to my shoulders. We sat like that for what seemed to be forever. She slowly pulled back, exhaling loudly.
"Look, I'm sorry I know it's too soon." I trailed off.
"No dont be sorry." She had a huge grin plastered to her face.
"I don't want to move too fast, I don't want to do anything your not comfortable with." I moved my hand across her shoulders and down her back.
"I'll tell you if I'm not comfortable with something." She moved further away, slumping down deeper into the chocolate colored couch.
I cautiously scooched closer to her, laying my arm around her.
"This is fine....right?" I hated asking, I just wanted to make sure she was fine.
"Stop worrying! I'm completely and utterly fine. If anything this isn't enough." She smirked at me.
"Well, what were you thinking of doing?" I locked eyes with her.
"Whatever you're up for."
Carolines P.O.V
I had never been this intimate with a guy before. The only previous relationships I had ended in violence. I was never good at picking guys. The closest I'd ever been with a guy before was a few quick kisses, and maybe a hug.
I felt a rush of cold air as Johnny slid my shawl off my shoulders. My face was hot, I must be blushing. I couldn't even believe I was doing this. I reached forward and started to unbuttoned his shirt.
"Are you sure?" He had a stern look in his eyes.
"I- I think so." I began to break into a nervous sweat.
"If I do anything that your not okay with, just say something and I promise I'll stop."
"I've never done this before." I blurted.
Shit.
"We can save it for when your ready. it's up to you." He was staring at my shoulders.
"N-no. I just wanted to let you know."
"Look, you don't want someone like me taking your virginity." He averted his gaze from mine.
"Why not?" I slid my hands away from the collar of his now open shirt.
" Its a long story. I haven't exactly told you everything."
"Is there something wrong?" I pit of worry started burning in my chest.
"First, I'm in a band."
"And?"
"I have a kid."
Oh my god, was I helping him cheat on someone?! What have I done...
"Ite not what you think. Her mom and I aren't together any longer. It was supposed to be a one night stand, I was drunk so was she. Somehow I fell In love with her, she didn't feel the same. We only stayed together because she was pregnant with our daughter. Shit happened, we broke up." His typically bright and joyful blue eyes were dull.
"I'm sorry..." I turned away from his darkening gaze.
I couldn't bear to look at him like that, it damaged me inside.
"Look, it's not your fault. That's all in the past now. what's done is done. There's nothing I can do." He rubbed my sides with his hands. "Just ignore what I said"
I watched as the corners of his mouth lifted slightly.
"I should go." I stood up abruptly catching him off guard.
"Just stay here for Tonight." As soon as he said that, all of the lights flickered off.
"Shit." I snapped frantically glancing around the room.
Everything was pitch black. my heard started pounding. I hated the cold sense of fear that crept through me. I felt as if I was frozen in place. A small whimper of fear escaped my lips.
"You alright?" I felt his hand grip mine, squeezing it reassuringly.
"I'm- fine...." I yelped.
His hand pulled me onto the couch.
"You seem scared. Are you sure your okay?" A wave of concern coursed through his voice.
"N-no" I wrapped myself around him.
I was being too clingy. I couldn't help it at this point. This cold darkness brought back too many memories. I needed to feel his warm, welcoming embrace.
"The power will be out for a while." He said, a clap of thunder sounding in the distance.
He pulled me up to his still bare chest. Seconds later a blanket was draped over us both. I let out a sight of relief, and drifted off to the soft beat of his heart.
