Thoughts seemed to dash through my mind on whether my eyes believed on what I was seeing through the glass doors of the building. There stood Aria, as she crossed her arms intently with a bored look. Rose's jaw was clenched as she raced past me, trying to find another entrance int he building. The main priority was to get that girl off that balcony.

My eyes took a glimpse of the girl who was still holding on for dear life. The person that i eyed from the balcony was now gone as I stood there helpless. Aria was now gone too, as my heart was speeding up as the events dragged on. Was Aria part of that couple that was walking away? I highly thought that was possible since she was wearing the black bow that I spotted earlier.

My mind told me repeatedly to follow Rose as I spotted her banging on the back door, screaming out profanities. Her screams were shrill as the sound grated my ears painfully as I took her by the shoulders.

"We need to find a way in..." Rose murmured, kicking the door in frustration.

"I know..." My eyes caught a glimpse of a brick that was near one of the trash cans that surrounded the building. I grabbed it in one swift move as I threw it against the glass door. As the glass was shattered it gave me a flashback of when the glass was thrown against the chalkboard on Rose's first day. I shook off the thought viguoursly as my hand felt around the door knob from the back of the door.

I knew instantly as Rose and I were racing up the stairs that the couple woud have the same "gift" as Rose. They used it aimlessly, trying to prove a point that they were far superior to Rose. Rose used her power with reason as we climbed the stairs. My whole body started to shudder. If they saw me they would gladly use their power to kill me instantly under their favour. I wouldn't let it happen. I wasn't going to let them win and kill that girl.

"What floor, Rose?" I asked, my voice breaking under the suspense.

"the eighth floor. " she took a breath, "We're almost there."

It was then we saw Aria in our path, her eyes conveying death as she eyed me from the top of the stairs after we had come so far. I swore under my breath as I felt the my fingers tremble as I felt my throat tighten up.

She was going to kill me right then and there.

Out of nowhere I just felt lifeless for a moment. A sweet moment.

My head collided with the ground as I fought for air as my hands lurched up to my neck for relief. This was not how I was going to go, but if this was my faith then so be it. it would only be a few seconds until my heart would stop beating, I would then travel to my world of literature as everyting that would never happen to me would happen at a an instant.

This world where I lived, it was messed up with death and confusion. I never knew what to do until i met Rose. Everything spiraled down to a point where I just wouldn't grasp the fact that i was facing something horrible toward me. My fingers were starting to twitch as my eye caught Aria's glare from the top of the stairs. Her lips were sealed in a tight line as her jaw was clenched in fury and strength.

I couldn't escape from this world just yet. I needed to fight.

"Aria please stop!" Rose screamed, I felt her cold hands cradling my head as I continued to gasp for air. The strength around my throat tightened even more as I winced. My limbs were sprawled everywhere as my fingers were continuing to scratch at my chest.

"he knows too much. I have to eliminate him." Aria said monotonous. Rose stood up from my cringing body. I felt the pressure around my throat peel off instantly as I gasped for air coughing vigurously. My throat burned and my eyes watered. My eyes dragged on to Aria who holding herself up against the wall as the look of pain was plastered over her face. What did Rose do?

"Logan we have to go!" Rose exclaimed as she pulled me to the top of the stairs. By the time we reached the balcony there was someone sitting in a chair. Their head was rolled to the side as Rose edged near it. She gasped at what she saw as the blood was dripping from the victim's mouth. The victim was tied to a chair as it was shot 3 times in the chest. The pain that Rose was going through seeing all of this chaos had me by a rope in despair.

Aria couldn't have done this, she was too busy choking me to death downstairs. We suddenly heard the sound of sirens as I stumbled toward the balcony. The girl had fell as she was lowered into the ambulance with the public staring in shock. We had failed misreably to help this girl in her time of need and we didn't get here in time.

It was too late.

From that day on several killings were happening left and right across town. People on the streets were terrified as the newspapers were flooded with articles about the people who have been mysteriously killed. Rose was choked up about the killings as she rested her mug in front of her. It was a week after we had encountered with Aria and we haven't seen her in school since last week. She must've been hiding out at the edge of town trying to keep a low profile.

Rose's finger traced the rim of the mug as she looked up at me from her coffee. I looked at her as a look of sorrow was slowly sinking onto her face. Her eyes were glossy from the tears she had wept in the previous night.

I couldn't understand what these people were doing with all these innocent people. Their killings were creative it drove me to a point of insanity that made me want to crush them even more. They were still trying to get Rose's attention but now they were just mocking her. They were attempting to catch her in the act whenever she was at school. Whatever they want they wanted her and it was scaring the crap out of me. Who knows what they wanted from her. We both knew that Aria had the same power as Rose, a "gift" Rose would say.

"Aria Jones is bad news." I muttered.

"I know. but who killed that victim in the chair?" Rose asked a bit desperate to know. A waitress handed me my coffee as I thanked her quietly. I took a generous sip as the steam made my face moist. I chewed on my bottom lips as Rose was rubbing her wrists nervously.

"The couple must be planning a new attack tommorrow." I whispered.
