Calum had started to enjoy this. He actually started getting up early, actually looking forward to school to see what his girl has got for him.
Pity it had to end so early.
Calum has been avoiding this fact for a very long time, never completely having the guts to tell her.
He was going on tour.
Well not yet, but Niall has already asked them.
No one knew yet, not even their subscribers. They were keeping it secret, flying over to where the boys of One Direction had invited them over for some song writing, then touring.
It would take a couple weeks for that to happen, for tour to start, but they needed to get used to the huge stadiums, practice harder, do their best.
The last time they were on tour, it wasn't half as long as this time and he hadn't known the redhead.
Now, he was going to have to leave.
Calum spent all morning worrying about what he was to say to her, before the more pressing matters of the band came in place. He swept away the thoughts of anything else, and starting planning things out.
A knock had sounded on the classroom door, and two boys he knew very well popped their heads in.
"Can we have Calum? He's leaving early." They handed the note towards the teacher and Calum gathered up everything before walking out. He waits until the door closes before pouncing on them.
"Okay you losers, what's going on?"
"The school stuff is cleared! We're home free!" Michael whooped, completely oblivious and uncaring about the classes still learning.
Calum grinned and cheered with them, before hopping onto Luke's mom's car, tempted to throw school papers behind him like confetti.
He didn't.
Michael had no such qualms, having no problem rolling down the window, sticking his head out, and sticking a middle fingered salute.
"See ya in hell suckers!" He yelled and Luke looked like he was about to have a coronary.
In the rush that was band practice, rushing to pack, and airport security, any thought of his airplane girl had been wiped away from his mind.
Coincidentally, it was on an airplane when he finally remembered her and her paper airplanes.
He never told her.
That fact hit him hard, knocking out all the breath in his lungs. Damn the schedule for having his final classes with her last. Damn the school for finally finishing their shit before those classes.
Damn him for forgetting.
He reached into his backpack, front pocket, and there they were. Neatly folded up, carefully preserved. The first few had been more crumbled than the last few, and he cursed his younger self for not being more careful with these priceless objects.
He counted them.
Fifteen.
Fifteen notes for him to fall in love.
Sounded like a romance novel.
A romance novel he couldn't live without.
John Green got nothing on him.
With his heart sinking, he pulls out every paper they've exchanged, smoothed them out, and started reading.
'Hey Asian boy...'
