The Gem Finder Gazette

I will tell you now, this is not a story. I'm really sorry, and I hope you take the time to read at least the introduction to this. I am GemFinder1. My mission is to find all the undiscovered gems buried in Wattpad. I have started a number of discussions in Clubs, and I'm trying to get the word out there about some fantastic writers who are overshadowed by those stories and authors everyone knows. This is my way of helping them become a little more popular and helping them get their names out there. This is the first entry of an interview, and this author is one of my favorites. Her story is one of the best I've read on Wattpad, and I've been on for a while (Don't let my profile fool you, I have a sister-account where I have been using Wattpad for years) so if you would be so kind, take the time to read about someone else's work. I know what you’re thinking, this isn't worth my time, and there are better things to read. But you’re wrong. There seems to be a lack of originality in the What's Hot List nowadays. I state that bluntly, but it’s becoming true. I'm here to show you your other choices, some of these works are worthy of high honors, nothing less than the NY Times.

1) My username is jayhit88 and my story is "Divided Home; Divided Family"

2) Well, for starters I love to write because it takes me to a different place; writing allows me to open up the depths of my mind and get out the ideas that lay hidden beneath the surface. Writing keeps me occupied especially when I'm bored but even when I'm not bored, I still love to write. I love doing anything creative, so writing is like a passion to me. I like to write teen fiction, romance, poetry, and short stories (I recently did a short story involving talking animals)

3) Some tips I have for other writers are just write what you feel like writing; don't just write what others want you to. Taking suggestions is fine and writing what you believe would appeal to an audience is fine as well, but if you write something that you yourself don't like, it won't be as much fun.

4) The one thing I find to be frustrating with writing is the dreaded WRITER'S BLOCK; I know everyone dislikes that. Also, when I have an idea in my head and I start planning out exactly how I am going to write it, if I can't write it almost then, I lose the idea or I don't have as clear a picture in my mind later. As far as Wattpad goes, I love it, so nothing frustrating so far :D

5) My favorite color is purple (fun fact: it also happens to be the color of my birthstone)

6) I do want to be a popular writer, actually. Just the thought of people liking your work and being recognized for something you work really hard for makes me happy. I love to write just for fun, but when people actually take the time to read it and tell you their thoughts about it, that makes it all the more enjoyable to me

 And here's the summary of her story, "Divided Home; Divided Family"

Cassie Boulden and her younger brother, Chase, have always had a pretty normal life with their caring, loving family...that is, they did up until that fateful day when tragedy struck. Now, with someone they so deeply cherished gone, they take on their lives from a whole new perspective. There is a very fine line between a 'house' and a 'home', and Cassie's not sure if she even knows what a home is anymore. The family was divided. and now the home is as well. It's been four long, hard years, and nothing seems to be getting any better. Relationships are becoming more strained, and Cassie is trying all she can to make life the best she possibly can for Chase. She begins to lose hope of ever having a happy family again...until two people walk into her life, changing it forever.
