NicoXreader: Daughter of Apollo- Take the pain

A/N okay, this has a really sad ending, so I might make an alternate ending if you would rather have a happy ending. Also I want to dedicate this chapter to EllieMcCallister for being awesome! Thanks!

"Shhh, it's okay. You're going to be okay."
You and Nico were sitting on his bed. He sat up and you looked into his dark onyx eyes, red and puffy from crying. You had walked into his cabin, trying to get him to come to lunch, and you found him here. You didn't know exactly what he was upset about, but you didn't ask. He had had a very hard life, even for demigod standards.
"Look. I may not be able to lend you strength like Reyna did, but I can take away some of the pain." You said, calmly.
"W-what d'you mean?" Nico studdered.
"I didn't want you to worry. I've never told anyone this before, but my healing powers are different from my siblings'. When I take away the injury from someone, it doesn't just disappear. It transfers to me." You explained.
"So if you healed someone who was dying..." Nico trailed off. You just nodded your head.
"I was worried you wouldn't want me working in the infirmary anymore." You said.
"Of course I don't want you working in the infirmary, (Y/n)! You're going to hurt yourself! He panicked.
You sighed. "Well, it's not just physical injury I can take, I can also take emotional pain. Here." You placed a hand on his chest and imagined taking all his pain and suffering away. You felt warmth move from your hand, replaced with a cold emptiness that coursed through your body.
"Y/n! Don't do that!" He pulled away.
"It's okay! I think I took most of it. Do you feel better?"
Nico thought for a moment. "I feel loads better, but, how do you feel?" He asked concerned. The truth was, you felt like throwing yourself into his arms and crying for hours, but you guys weren't like that.He was just your friend. Also, he would probably hold you hostage if he knew you were hurt so that you would never take anyone's pain again. Instead of crying, you decided to make a joke out of it, like Leo did so often.
"Pretty lousy!" You laughed.
"Are you sure you're okay,(Y/n)?" He asked.
"I'm fine, Nico." You replied."Now let's go get some lunch!"
"Wait. Uh, (Y/n)? I...umm..I."
"Yes, Nico?"
"I um..uhhh. Oh forget it!" He said and placed his lips on yours. You were shocked at first but then you kissed back gently.
You broke apart to see Nico grinning madly.
"You happy now, Death boy?" You smiled. His face reddened and he just smiled back.
"I'll take that as a "yes"" you giggled amd pulled him towards the dining pavilion.
*Time skip*
After lunch, you had infirmary duty.
"Please promise me that you won't use your powers? You can just heal people with normal medical stuff, right?" Nico had asked.
"I promise." You had replied.
You thought about that as you prepared to sewed up your half-sister, (sister's name if- you dont have one then her name is Lily)'s cut.
"What happened?" You asked.
"During archery, I pulled an arrow out of my quiver and I nicked myself on accident."
"I have to sew it up, it will only hurt a little." You comforted.
This would be so much easier if I could use my powers, you thought, but a promise is a promise.
You finished sewing the cut and dabbed some nectar on it.
"There. It will stop hurting soon."
After quite a few more patients, you checked out of the infirmary and met Nico outside of the Apollo cabin.
"Hey, (y/n)." He said.
You ran up and hugged him. You were still tired from the pain you had taken from him.
"You tired?" He chuckled, mind you, in a really cute way.
"Yeah. I'm tired." You smiled into his chest.
"You can stay in my cabin! I'm sure Chiron won't mind." He pleaded.
"It's against the rules, Nico."
"You say that word, rules, alot. It doesn't seem to be in my vocabulary." He smirked.
"Alright. Fine. But just this once. Let me just tell (sisters name/Lily) so she can cover for me.
"You can sleep where Hazel normally sleeps, or you can sleep in the bed ne t to mine!" Nico said once you both got to his cabin.
"I'll sleep in the bed next to you." You decided. You changed into pajamas in the bathroom and you came out to see Nico in only his boxers and a muscle shirt.
"Uhhh..." you felt your face heat up.
"Oh. Sorry. I'll just get under my covers." He slipped into his bed amd you did the same. You turned on your side so you were facing Nico's bed.
"Nico? I love you." You said truthfully.
"I love you too,(y/n)."
You turned the other way, trying to sleep. You heard a shuffle and then felt someone next to you. You turned to see Nico looking at you.
You just smiled. Then he kissed you. Sweetly, but full of passion.
"Buonanotte, amore mio." He said as you fell asleep.

*1 week later*

"Come on, (y/n)!" Nico pulled you to the beach of Camp Half-Blood. This was your guys' first actual date and you were really excited.
"Nico?" He had disappeared from sight. "Nico!" You ran forward and were tackled onto the sand by none other than your new boyfriend, Nico. He bent down and kissed you.
"You know, you didn't have to tackle me to get a kiss." You said. Nico just chuckled in that way of his that made your heart melt.
"(Y/n)! (Y/n!)!" Piper ran up to you.
"What's wrong?" You asked. You could see how worried Piper was.
"It's Hazel. Her and Frank were coming to visit. They got attacked by a monster on the way. She's hurt!"
You shot a worried glance at Nico, then the three of you ran to where Hazel was laying.
It was not pretty. A group of campers including the rest of the prophecied seven were gathered around. Frank sat next to Hazel, holding her hand. "Hazel!" Nico gasped as you both rushed up to her. She had a deep gash across her stomach. If you didn't do something quickly, she would bleed out.
"Shh. Hazel. It's going to be okay. I'm going to fix you, okay?" You told her.
"(Y/n)..." Nico trailed off.
"I'm going to save your sister, Nico." You looked him in the eyes and then turned your back to him so that you were looking at Hazel. You placed your hands over her wound and focused. You felt pain searing across your stomach but you didn't stop. You lifted one of your hands to see that the cut was now reduced to a small scar. You faced Nico before you collapsed, lightheaded from blood loss.
"(Y/n)..." Nico started. Your breaths were shallow and your face pale. You looked up at Nico just as your brother, Will Solace, came rushing over.
"Help her, Will. Please." Nico said.
Will came over but you pushed his hand away. It was no use. You had already lost too much blood.
"See you, Death Boy." You said as bright white light took over your vision. The last thing you felt was Nico's lips against yours.

The end!!! I know this was really sad. I probably broke your heart, right? Yeah... sorry about that. Anyways, if anyone has ideas for an alternate ending,  I will gladly accept your ideas! Thanks!
