I was unpacking some never ending boxes when I suddenly heard the door bell go; I heard little child footsteps run down the stairs and immediately knew that it's my little boy, Samuel.

Then he began to shout which made me stop what I was doing and payed my attention to Samuel who was currently opening the door as I head over beside Samuel and faced the old lady in front of us.

"Oh hello dear my name is Mrs. Roach but you can call me Elizabeth or Liz for short if you would like to, I'm your next door neighbour" Spoke the lady known as 'Mrs. Roach' as she nodded her heads towards the house connected to my house, No.29.

"Hi my name's Samuel I'm 10 years old and I live with my mum, who looks after me without my dad who died when I was youn-"

I was taken back with what Samuel was saying its true but he should never introduce himself like that especially to Mrs. Roach, who we just met. So I decided to cut him off.

"Samuel that's enough go and finish the rest of the unpacking." I smile to Samuel and turned my attention back to Mrs. Roach.

"Sorry about him, my names Amelia and you have met my son, Samuel".

Mrs. Roach just smiled and handed me a tub full of cookies. Then she began to speak.

"For yourself and the boy, I will leave to let yourself settle in dear, you know where I am if you need me, nice to meet you Amelia and Samuel, he seems a lovely boy."

As she left I began to close the door and look down at the tub of cookies that were in my hands. They looked and smelled so good; I headed to the kitchen to place the cookies on the worktop. I decided to check on Samuel and how he was getting on with his packing, but as I approached the top of the stairs I heard Samuels laugh and 2 other children's that I didn't recognise. I thought to myself 'That's not Samuels laugh and there are no other children in the neighbourhood, that's strange'. I walked towards Samuels's room, the door was closed. I placed my hand on the cold, metal bedroom door handle twisted, and pushed it far away from me for it to open.

The scene that I saw was not what I expected; Samuel was sitting round what looked like a very old board game that my parents would have played as children. I looked at Samuel in confusion and looked around the room.

"Look what I found mum, it was in the weird looking cupboard over there, and it looks fun but really dusty and old."

"That looks fun darling, I've never seen this game before but once we have unpacked all the boxes, fixed the house and some lunch we can have a game if you would like to."

As I spoke Samuel paid his attention behind me and took a sharp deep breath, I ignored him and as I finished he let the breath out which looked like he didn't know he was holding in.
