' Life wasn't that bad until'
A few weeks after we joined camp Hannah's sister went missing. We sent out three search parties over the next 2 days but there was nothing. I joined the tghird search party leaving Daisy to comfort Hannah who had been having mental breakdowns every half hour. After two hours of searching we were about to go back to camp when I noticed the most obvious clue ever. I really don't understand why anyone had seen it before. There was asmall torn peice of white and pink checkered cloth that had obviousy been ripped off a shirt. It was stuck in a thorny bramble bush.
"hey guys, Come here. I Think I found something," I yelled over my shoulder in a half worried half excited voice.
What! What is it?!?" Adrian (A tall lanky boy with freckles and grey eyes) as he stumbled over.
"I think it's part of a shirt; and look, footsteps!" It hadn't rained since the day Emma went missing which explained why there were still footsteps. We all tried to climb through the bushes and every single one of us came out groaning and wincing thanks to about 8 cuts each due to that stupid bramble bush. We followed the footsteps to a river where we found another pair following them. Except these wern't human feet. There were large paw prints. I knew at once what had happened.
'Emma had gone for one of her small expors but his time had gone outside the boundary. She had been found by a wild dog or a wolf and had been chased through the bushes and down to the steam. But Emma couldn't swim she must have waded in and then been swept away by the current. The dog/wolf hadn't followed her because the footsteps turned back and headed away. She must have been swept right down the stream but many trees ahead fallen over that steam. She must have grabbed hold of one at least.'
We ran down the steam as far as the old oak where we heard a faint crying. I was the best swimmer but Nancy and Adrian both came with me. After less than 2 minutes of swimming w3e found her. She was clinging to a small branch that lent out over the stream and was quietly weeping.
" Emma!" I Yelled so happy to see her.
We swam over and then my heart skipped a beat. Half her face and most of her left arm were covered in what looked like dry blood. Adrian moved forward and was about to shake her but me and Nancy shouted stop at exactly the same time. I moved forward slowly and touched the half of her face which wasn't a dark red.
" Emma, can you hear me?" I tried to say but it came out no more than a whisper. Nothing happened apart from another whimper. "We have to get her back to camp. NOW!" I shouted at the others.
