A frightened mate

Chapter 7-Months later

Bella's POV

It's been a year since Edward left me. About three months since Katherine left. The shifters still hate me. I haven't spoke to them since Paul tried to kill Vic. Victoria moved in and is a traditional vampire. I asked an old friend for his blood because he owed me.

I was unsure if my blood would work. I had actually never tried to turn someone, and I didn't want to risk killing Victoria.

When the Cullen's left I was a weak hybrid that acted like a human. Now, Jessica and Angela have broken me out of my shell.

I now show off my strength, my wisdom, and sometimes my body. But I haven't dated or slept with anybody. I tried to once when I went to a club with Jessica, but as soon as we started the pain I felt was excruciating

I felt so different from what I was all those years ago. I had been a weak human, to an emotionless being, to a pathetic hybrid, and finally a strong, independent woman.

Just like when I first arrived, we all packed up to go to La Push. The girls didn't shy away from me after I told them, and I was glad. However, the boys could not shut up about it when I had first told them. So I compelled them not to speak of it in public places where others could here.

They were completely fine with it. Which made me feel a little confused. They said that they trusted me. I got even more confused after that.

"Bella! Are you coming?" Angela waved me over to the waves. It was cloudy, but the beach was wild today. The waves crashed against the sand.

"Let's go!" We got in our suits and dove in the water. After a couple hours we ate.

"Iz, your friend is here." I looked over to see Jacob and some of his pack. Paul unfortunately was with them. Leah was looking at me, pissed. My mood darkened.

"You guys meet mutts. Mutts meet my friends."

"Which one attacked you?" I inch my head to Paul. Angela slapped him. I burst out laughing with my friends. "Stay away from our friend!" She continued. She glared at each one of them. She froze. I looked in her line of vision.

The slender boy with his cropped black hair looked back at her. It looked familiar.

He looked like he was seeing sun for the first time. Like he had never seen something more fascinating. Imprint.

I wish that sometimes things could go my way. I sighed. "Ang?" She looked back at me. I nodded my head, saying it was okay for her. I had told her and the others about what happens when they find their mate/imprint.

"We have to go." She grabbed me and Jessica and dragged us to the car. I still had my truck.

"Ang! You can date him!" I yelled at her in the car. Ben protested but I cut him off with a glare. "You remember what happened to me. I don't think you want that to happen to him."

She was conflicted. The internal battle showed on her face. That's it!

"Jess, get the wheel!" She scooted to my seat while I opened the door and climbed to the back. "I'll be back!" I jumped off the truck and changed.

I ran to La Push, to the Cullen's old treaty line. I was met by a russet wolf and a grey and black wolf. Their eyes told me who they were.

I phased back into my human form, naked as the day I was born. They barked in surprise. "I need to speak to you Embry." He whined. "It's about my friend. She's your imprint." He hid behind a tree and changed.

"I need you to meet me at my house around five tonight, alright. I'm trying to convince her to give you a chance, but she's pissed about what you guys did to me. I know what it's like to loose your imprint. I won't let you go through it."

"Thank you Bella. How? How are you a wolf?" Embry looked at me.

"Story for another time."

"What about your imprint? You said you knew what it was like to loose your imprint. You can't imprint. You're a girl!" Jacob had now phased back and spoken angrily. He has no right to be angry!

"My imprint left me! And you have no right to be angry! You left me."

"I DID IT BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!" He shouted at me. I cringed back.

"You lost the right when you left me alone." I faced Embry. "Five tonight!" I shouted before phasing. My house door was opened.

I didn't see Jess or any of my friends with my truck. I didn't smell Charlie. I searched the house. It was wrecked. I didn't see anybody.

The wind around me whooshed when I went out back. What I saw stopped me from moving.

A bloodied up Katherine had collapsed. I rushed to her.

"Katherine!" I shook her hard. "Katherine!" She thrashed in my arms.

"Get away from me!" She was screaming loudly. After another few minutes of her struggling, her eyes focused on me. "Bella, sorry." She gave me a soft smile that warmed my heart. Her wounds had not healed yet, which made me suspect that she was starving. I bit into my arm and let it drip into her mouth.

"Come on." I urged her to drink it when she coughed it out. "Drink it." I let her grab my arm and bit down hard. "Katherine." I whispered as I felt faint. She let go of me.

"Bella, you're real." She touched my face. "You're real." She whispered. Then I felt her lips against mine.

Okay, so 1) Embry and Angela. I realized that Embry never got his imprint in the movies & I can't remember if he got his in the books.
