I didn't want it to be this way in the first place.
..........
HAZEL
"Wow! Was that jacket like, $100 or what?"
No. It was twenty bucks.
"Like, I was so honored to see you at the gas station!"
Get a life. I'm just Hazel Astier.
"OMG!! I touched a fuzz that came from her skirt!!"
Just because my sister is extremely popular and attention-seeking, doesn't mean I am, okay?
..........
BROOKE
Isn't attention so... refreshing? It's like drinking out of a coconut, on my private section of the beach, perfecting my perfect tan. But better.
At home, Mom and Dad don't pay attention to me. They didn't give me enough money to buy the $3,695 Louboutin heels I wanted. (I don't own Louboutin or any of that jazz. XD) Talk about unfair, girl!
At school, people adore me! Unlike my, um, DESPERATE sister Hazel. Listen, I am MUCH better than Hazel. I have blonde streaks in my super straight brown hair. Hazel has curly brown hair. With no hair products. She only uses shampoo and conditioner, I mean come on! No hair spray? No gel? No styling foam? The list can go on and on and on.
My clique was at Table 5 in the café. Okay, well, nobody calls it Table 5, they call it "Popular Table." Table 1 is geeks, 2 is prissy and preppy, 3 is loners (it seats one person) 4 is jocks and sports people, 5 is my table, and 6 is anyone who doesn't fit into the other categories. (That sounds cliché, sorry!)
I walk in, and that's where people started giving me attention! Loved it! It was so fun.
Until Hazel came.
