The Arcane Court of Justice.
A magnificent building carved from pure white marble, glowing with energy. Rose quartz capped the tall pillars supporting the entire structure, which was made to look like a temple. A large stone statue with pink sapphire eyes stood proudly in the center of the large plaza in front of the court, doing a fine imitation of the Arcanist. A set of golden scales were cradled in its cement arms, encrusted with pure white diamonds, green emeralds, and bluish pearls.
The skies that day were clear and blue, blank like a piece of light blue paper with no obtrusions from any clouds or birds. The sun allowed its golden beams to enrich the green in the leaves and blades of the trees and grass circling the court's plaza, and let the trickling crystal stream wounding through the woods sparkle dazzlingly like a ribbon made of stars. Birdsong swirled from singers hidden in the thick canopy of the forest surrounding the court, melodies flowing through the air like a cloud of bubbles, overlapping each other and causing chaos, yet harmonizing with each other, at the same time.
A single Skydancer, whose coloring made her almost blend in with the forest, stepped into the plaza with a confidence that assured anyone nearby that she was someone independent and in need of little to no help with anything and everything. Her forest green wings were tucked against the silver armor she wore, and her rippling brown scales were decorated with pale teal gems.
The dragon walked cooly past the Arcanist statue, only stopping slightly to show her respect to the great deity. She strode up the great slabs of stone that made up the staircase leading towards the double oaken doors that served as entrances to the courthouse inside, pushed open the doors, and made her way towards the office reserved for the judge.
Yes, this Skydancer was a judge, and a very famous one as well. Along with that important position, she was also the young monarch of the Wind Wisps Clan, a clan residing within one of the regions of the Starfall Isles. Wise for her age, constantly curious, and will react quickly if rules are broken or clanmates are hurt, this dragon -- Olive, as she was known as -- was neither someone to toy with or offend. A Smoke Gyre known as Fei flitted over the judge's shoulder. She was Olive's loyal companion, and went wherever the Skydancer decided to go.
Today Olive and Fei were here for a very special business. It was Sunday morning, and there was to be a very serious case, as the court had informed her, on the day occurring directly after -- Monday. She'd only been informed of this on a late Friday night, and had read up the case during her Saturday free time. The accused's attorney had also sent her a file in defense of his or her clients, the extinguished jackalopes. This was all very serious.
Olive entered her office and sat down at her desk, which was neatly organized and had a few important files stored in a magical vault nearby. She took out a peculiar piece of parchment paper, picked out a unique pen, and settled down at her desk to write the very serious letter she had planned out all in her brilliant mind.
The parchment paper, peculiar because it was a creamy pink and bordered with magenta runes, glowed with an alien pink light. The pen, unique because it wasn't actually a pen -- it was a glowing white stick with a shimmering feather attached to it -- printed swirly white words on the peculiar parchment paper. When Olive had finished, she pulled out a simple white envelope, tucked the parchment inside, and wrote the address on the plain white front of the letter.
