Becca’s POV:

You ever keep something from your best friend even though you shouldn’t? Yeah? Good because that’ what I’m doing right now. I know you may be wondering what it is that I’m keeping from Bri but I can’t tell you that yet. Just know that Bri could either be mad or happy. I really hope she’s happy. She’s had a rough couple of days.

Nathan’s POV:

I’m officially bored and over thinking. Over thinking what exactly? I can’t tell you. But I can tell you that it’s like the surprise of the year.

Anyway, we’ve been on this plane for a little over an hour and I’m bored outta my mind. Bri’s been sleep for the past 45 minutes. Her mind seems preoccupied lately and I really don’t want her stressing out. But she won’t tell me what she’s thinking but I have a feeling I know what’s on her mind. I hope to ease her mind soon.

Brianna’s POV:

Memory:

“Daddy!” There’s a little girl running around a clearing. I can’t see who she’s running to but I know it’s her dad. Where’s her dad? Why is she in a clearing? What’s her dad look like? Woah! Overload of questions.

“Daddy! I found you!” I quickly catch up with her to see her dad. A tall, about 5’ 10”, light skinned African American man run towards the little girl and place her on his hip. She leans up to kiss him cheek before relaxing into his hold. “Daddy, I found you.” A deep chuckle comes from the little girl’s dad. “Yes princess, you did find me. Good job baby girl.” The little girl begins wiggling. “Daddy, put me down. I wanna walk.” Her puppy face would make anyone do what she wanted. “Ok baby girl. Just stay close.” Aww she has an overprotective dad. “Ok daddy.” He slowly puts her down then waits for her to fix her dress before holding out a hand for her. She quickly places her tiny hand in his big one before pulling him towards and apple tree in the middle of the clearing. Seriously, who plants an apple tree in a clearing? How’s it not dead? Are the apples good?

Ugh too many questions. Just listen Brianna.

“Daddy can I have an apple.” Woah, she has eyes like me. Cool, I’m not the only one with unique eyes. “Of course baby girl. Point to the one you want.” She looks around for about a minute before pointing to an apple near the top. “Ok baby girl. Stay here.” She takes a seat under the tree and watches her dad climb. “Daddy, be careful.” The little girl begins to panic when her dad gets higher up. She fears that he would fall and it would be her fault.

“It’s ok princess. I got your appl. I’m coming down now.” Her dad begins to descend the tree before dropping down the last 10 feet. The little girl screams before getting up and hugging her dad in a death grip hug. The man drops to his knees and hugs her while she sobs. “I…thought…you…got…hurt!” Each word is separated by a sob. I could see how much he meant to her due to her death grip.

“Shh…shh…it’s ok baby girl. I’m ok. Look at me baby girl.” She shakes her head into his chest. “Come on princess. I promise you I’m fine.” She shakes her head harder this time before tightening her grip on her dad. He looks lovingly at her but there is a look of determination behind it.

“Brianna Carmen Williams, look at me right now or no dessert for a month.” HOLY SHIT! That little girl is me and t-that’s my d-dad. Wow! My dad’s handsome. What the hell is wrong with my mom? He seems to love me, so what went wrong?

I guess you could say that I began to sniffle then pull my head away from my dad’s chest. My eyes are rimmed red and are glazed. “No…*sniffle* “d-daddy…” *sniffle* “t-that’s not…” *sniffle* “f-fair.” Man, I forgot how cute I was when I was 6. “I’m sorry for yelling princess but I needed you to see that I was ok and didn’t hurt myself.” My dad stands up and slowly turns around so that ‘little me’ can inspect him.

Ok daddy. But are you sure you aren’t hurt?” My dad nods before sitting against the tree trunk placing me in his lap, then giving me my apple. “Yay! Apple time!” My dad shakes his head smiling before resting his head against the tree.

Me and my dad stay in the clearing for awhile until I finish my apple. Shortly after, my eyes begin to droop. My dad notices and picks me up. Instinctually, I wrap my arms around his neck and legs around his torso. “Daddy…I’m tired.” I yawn before resting my head on his shoulder. “Take a nap baby girl. We’ll be home soon.” I nod my head before slowly dozing off.

Before falling into sleepy oblivion, I whisper, “I love you daddy.” He kissed my head before whispering, “I love you too baby girl.” With those last words, I fall asleep.

“Bri. Bri!” Who the hell is poking me? I slowly open my eyes to come face to face with Becca. “Dear God Becca! Stop poking me. I’m up already.” I swat her hand away to see that the plane landed and people are getting off. “Good, now get up. We have somewhere to be.” Ever since she became Jayne’s assistant, she’s been really bossy. I grumble something incoherent before slowly getting up, grabbing my bag, and exiting the plane.

First things I notice when I get off the place are all the camera flashes, people yelling questions, and girls screaming. We just got here and I already wanna leave. Secondly, a lot of questions are aimed at me. And lastly, it’s fucking cold here. If I weren’t wearing a sweater, I’d be a human popsicle. I really hope the hotel’s close. I. NEED. HEAT.

I quickly catch up to Nathan and lace our fingers together. “Cold?” He asks. I quickly nod before snuggling more into Nathan’s side.”

After having questions thrown at me, being partially blinded, and then pulled to our SUV, I’m finally able to relax and bask in the heat.

Heat, sweaters, jackets, and hot chocolate are gonna be my best friends while in Michigan.

Now all I have to do is find my dad and see where things go.

Wish me luck.
