Chapter one:
I got up late for school as usual it’s the first day of my junior year wonderful. I walked over to my closet and scanned through the cotton and jean fabrics. Black, black, black, hmm…here we go black my favorite band on the front Black Veil Brides and black skinny jeans too! I put on my studded bracelets and my matching belt. I straightened my red hair and let my bangs hang in my face like I always do then let the rest fall down a little bit passed my shoulders. I grabbed a toaster strudel out of the toaster, grabbed my bag and got my slides on.
“You’re late again.” my mom said from the couch.
“I know, I know.” I said taking a bite out of the strudel and headed out the door to walk to school as quick as possible. My mom wasn’t awake enough to drive me I could tell so I didn’t bother to ask. I walked and it started to rain down hard god damn it! When I finally got into the school I saw Stacy, my best friend in the hallway, she has blonde hair a little longer than mine, and blue eyes. She’s like me, a total scene girl! She was jumping up and down talking to her friend and screaming. I ran up to her to find out the scoop.
“Hey Kayla what’s up?” she asked me still excited.
“Nothin’ much. What’s up with you all excited?”
“You didn’t hear? There’s a totally hot new English teacher this year!”
“Cool.” I said not really interested.
“How are you not excited!” She exclaimed.
“Good morning ladies. You’re a little late don’t you think?” I heard a man’s voice behind me. His voice was smooth, his hair a dark brown almost black, it was sort of gelled back, his eyes were brown also.
“So are you.” I pointed out. He chuckled to himself.
“Just get to homeroom.”
“Yes, Sir.” I announced sarcastically.
He chuckled again.
“Oh my God that’s him!” Stacy squealed jumping up and down again.
I rolled my eyes and went to homeroom.
“Ms. Wane you’re late.” My homeroom teacher Mr. Stine said angrily. “I’ve heard about you and sadly I knew you would be a handful but I didn’t think you would show up to school late on the first day. Go to the principal’s office he will decide what your punishment is.”
“Whatev.” I said and walked down to the office. I opened the door to find Mr. Hendricks sipping coffee and waiting for me.
“Ahh…Ms. Wane you’re here what did you do this time on the first day of you’re eleventh grade year.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. I already heard this speech already from grandpa upstairs. Just tell me my punishment and I’ll be on my way.” I said.
“Okay. You have detention with Mr. France for a three days.” He said.
“Three days! But I only was late for the first day of school!”
“Yes, but you’re mouth got the better of you and so now you have two more days added onto it.”
“Okay. Well, who’s Mr. France?” I asked unfamiliar with the name.
“It’s your new English teacher. And just to let you know I’ve met him and I’m sure your mouth won’t go very far with him.”
I rolled my eyes as I left the office to head up to my next class, math with Ms. Shafer. Hopefully she wasn’t a fossil and wasn’t a witch. Or on her time of the month like Mr. Stine was. I walked in on time surprisingly and we all introduced ourselves and she let us just hang out and talk the whole period, but she assured us that tomorrow we would actually do something productive. I walked to my next class which was English, great. NOT! I get to hear all the girls in my class including Stacy say how cute Mr. France is, and listen to them giggling and flirting with him. I walked into the room and sat down next to Stacy, who had her chin rested on her hand, staring at our new English teacher intensively.
