At first I did not think I would love this summer. For it was the summer I had to spend with my dad. Away from my friends, my home and, the city. My parents split when I was only three. My mom moved to the city with me and my big brother and my father moved on a ranch where his parents lived. After they died he got to keep the ranch for himself. My brother and I have never been to his ranch before and we are not excited to go.
Today is the last of school. The last day of school is meant to be fun but, Instead Im wishing it was the first day of the next year. As the day goes on I meet my friends in each of the classes. Saying good bye to random people. You know just trying to enjoy the last day of school. As my sophomore year comes to a end I make my way to my car and drive away.
On my way home just like any other seventeen year old girl I sang along to all of the songs that play. Annoying I'm eighteen year old brother who graduated this year. Lucky him. When we approach the house we see a moving truck in front. Which we knew what it was doing. It was moving all of our stuff to my dad 700 miles away from my home.
I see my dad inside. It was the first time I have seen him in five years. His hair is short cut. His eyes light green. He stands about 5'11. As he walks up to me he gives me a hug. It was a bit awkward. He released me and went to my brother. No one was talking. It was a long time of silence. After the moving people were done and we had said good bye to our mom we were ready for a new journey to the ranch.
