Smiffy's POV
I was walking back home when I suddenly felt something small bump me. I looked down and saw a little girl who had fallen on the floor looking at me, she chocolate brown hair, emerald green eyes, she looked 8 years old, was wearing a black and light blue hoodie but I couldn't see her parents anywhere.
"Oh, sorry kid, I didn't see you there. But where are your parents?" I asked her. As soon as I did her eyes started to well up with tears
"Sorry I didn't mean to make you upset. Did something bad happen to them?" I apologised
"No... they treated me like crap. Then they cut my arms and left me on the streets," she explained wiping away her tears
"Oh," I mumbled even though I wanted to say so much more like. Why the fuck would anyone do that to their child? Bastards that's who. Then I thought to myself if her parents left her on the streets then that means she doesn't have anywhere to stay and I can't just leave her here so I asked her
"Um do you want to come back to my apartment with me and stay there?" She looked really shocked when I said that then she smiled and nodded
"Yes please,"
"Cool I'm Alex," I smiled
"I'm Katie," she replied
"Neat name," I said
"Thanks," she smiled and I smiled back
"Come on then, follow me," I said. Then I grabbed her little hand with my big one and we started to walk home.
