Boxes Galore

I grabbed the final box from my room and brought it down to the moving van outside. I stood their in the middle of the road and stared at my childhood home. Dylan came up and stood beside me

"I still can't quite wrap my head around it" I said quietly "I mean, we're actually doing this" I exclaimed as it all started to get very real

"I know, its unreal, it feels like a dream" Dylan said back. Just then mom dad and Brady came shuffling through the doorway. I strolled over fiddling with the hem of my over sized purple flannel shirt and my converse scuffing against the ground.

Mom instantly pulled me into a breath taking hug as she weeped into my shoulder as soon as I was at arms reach. I wrapped my arms around her and rubbed her back in an attempt to sooth her.

"Mom, stop crying, people are starting to stare and I'll only be 2 hours away!" I whined

"Sorry, promise you'll visit soon!" she sniffled and stepped back to look me in the eyes

"Yes, of course" I smiled and turned to my dad as my mom shuffled passed me to hug Dylan goodbye

"Dad" I sighed as he took me in for one of our bear hugs

"Im so proud of you! Ok, stay safe and don't get into any trouble" he said after taking a step back " Alright, maybe just a little" he said so only I could here making me chuckle "And you" he pointed to Dylan "Look after my daughter, and make sure she doesn't bring home any boys" 

"Daad!" I covered my face with my hands as Dylan and my dad chuckled. I turned to Brady with a smile

"Stay out'a trouble kid'o" I scrubbed his hair and he scrunched up his face

"you too teen'o" I smirked as we fist bumped. He suddenly jumped into my arms 

"I'll miss you" he whispered and I kissed him on top of his forehead

"I'll miss you too" I whispered back. We strolled back over to Dylan and our parents.

"We should probably get going if we want to get there before dark" I said with a sad smile 

"Ok well call as soon as you get there" my mom said and I rolled my eyes

"I mean it!" She said sternly

"Bye mom" I smiled as we hugged one last time

"Have fun, slugger" me and Dad chuckled one last time as we hugged again, too

"Face time me every night,ok" I could see tears in Brady's eyes and some of my own started to form in my eyes 

"I promise, ok buddy?" He nodded and we exchanged the last hug of the day. 

Dylan and I then got into the moving van that I had stocked full of food (mostly candy), blankets and pillows. Once I had my seat belt on I rolled down my window 

"I love you!" I yelled already missing them

"We love you too!" Dad called waving back at me.

"You ready?" Dylan asked with raised eye brows as I turned back to him, I nodded 

"Lets do this!" I exclaimed and he started to drive past my old house, through my old street,out of our old town and toward our new lives.
