In this you are like 20 and on your first year of college.
You looked at the large campus coming into view. As you came to the doors of New Rome University you took a deep breath. You had left Camp Half-Blood so you could get the education that a normal mortal would get. Except here there wouldn't be any monsters distracting you. And you would be with other demigods. Yay!
You stepped in and checked in at the front desk.
"Here's your dorm key! A senior student will be there to give you and your roommate a tour of the campus in promptly twenty minutes!" Said the receptionist. Yep; tightly run and organized. Definitely a Roman run school.
You muttered a quick thanks and went to your room. Honestly, you wouldn't have gotten there if it weren't for all the directory signs everywhere.
Room 113.
You opened the door. Whew. Thank the gods your roomate wasn't there yet. You wanted to be there first so you coulx have everything set uo the way you wanted it.
You set up a (f/c) inspirational calendar, an organization cork board/whiteboard, an easy-assemble desk, and a (f/c) shelving unit. You pinned a couple of pictures of your friends back at camp to the corkboard and added a (f/c) comforter, pillows, and sheets to your bed. All done!
You stepped back to admire your work and bumped into someone.
"Hey! Watch it!" You turned around to see that one boy from the Hades cabin, Nico di Angelo. The one who you constantly fought with.
"You!" You said.
"Yeah. Apparently I'm your roomate. I'm not exactly thrilled either." He retorted.
"Of all the people I could have been with, I had to be stuck with you!" You fumed and sat grumpily on your bed.
"What are you doing!" You exclaimed as you saw Nico pin a bunch of skull and rock band posters all over the walls and a little too close to your desk and whiteboard.
"I'm personalizing my living space so it doesn't look as boring as yours." He smirked.
"My living area is not boring!" You said back. You watched as he put up a poster of a rock band with a gothic girl in a bikini on the front.
"Also, I don't want you to bring anyone in here. I don't want to see you fiddling around with some girl-"
"I-i don't I mean I'm..." Nico said. You had totally forgotten that he you know, wasn't into girls. You knew it was a sore subject for him.
"I-I didn't mean- I'm sorry." You apologized.
"Did the sassy girl just apologize to me?" He smirked again.
"Don't make me regret it, di Angelo." You said through clenched teeth.
Knock knock.
Someone was at the door. You ran for the door. Apparently, so did Nico. You ran into eachother, landing with him on top of you.
"Ugh." You said as you landed with a thud."Um.. could you get off me?" You said, feeling your face heat up.
"Oh, uh sorry." Nico got up, also blushing.
You opened the door to see a slightly older girl with light brown hair and glasses.
"Hi! I'm Bridget, daughter of Hephaestus. I'll be giving you a tour today! I heard you two were from camp and I volunteered to give you a tour." She said. "I see you've got your room settled!"
"Uh. Yeah." You said.
"Let's get this tour started!" She led the way from the hall.
The tour was pretty long and boring. Then you got to the art building. That's where you would be majoring!
"So I pulled up your guys' records, and this is where you will both be majoring!"
You shot your "really" look at Nico which he returned.
"Also, I'm not supposed to tell you this until you get your schedules, but I think you are in the same classes!" She whispered excitedly."You two are like, going to be together at all times! It's cute!"
"We're not, I mean. We're not a..." Nico started but then stopped when he realized that Bridget wasn't listening. She continued the rest of the tour, you and Nico following boredly behind her.
When the tour had ended you both collapsed on your beds, exhausted.
"Well, that was....fun." You said sarcastically.
"Are you stalking me or something? First we have to share a dorm, we major in the same subject, and then we're in the same class?" He replied.
"Absolutely not! Why would I do that? It's just extremely horrible luck." And it truly was bad luck. You couldn't believe it had turned out so horribly.
"Whatever. But I guess we'll get our schedules tomorrow and pray to the gods that we aren't in the same classes for real." He said.
*2 weeks later*
"Are you blackmailing me, di Angelo?" You asked pointedly. He had just told you to do his homework for him or he would tell everyone that they could have a party in your dorm.
"And if I am?" He smirked back.
"Well, I could request to move dorms!" You grumbled over your homework.
"You wouldn't do that would you, (l/n)?" He said quietly in your ear.
"Fine I'll do your work if you just leave me alone." You retorted. "Anyways, we have art class in about 10 minutes so we should leave."
"Okay, okay." You both began getting your paints, pencils, and other supplies together. Yours were organized in a bag, and his were in his arms, with crumpled paper sticking out in every direction.
"Why don't you put that stuff in your backpack? It will be easier for you to carry." You asked.
"Since when do you care about me?" He said, putting his stuff in a black backpack.
"I don't. " you insisted.
And the two of you headed off to class.
*timeskip to class*
"Today we're going to be working in pairs to create a painting of where you would like to be in the future. Be it a dream house,a job, or anything that represents your future. It can be abstract or realistic. I will assign partners and you have to collaborate ideas to make an equal of both. Here are the teams:"
The teacher went off in a bunch of teams, but you just listened for your name.
"And lastly, (l/n) and di Angelo, you will be working together." And there it was, the dreaded sentance. You and Nico just stared at eachother in complete disbelief.
"Okay, now start planning your painting!"The teacher ordered."I can't believe we have to work together!" You said after everyone had gotten into groups.
"This is ridiculous." He growled.
"Well, what do yiu want to do for the painting?" You asked.
"Um, a future home would be cool, I guess?" He said. This was going to be a long project.*After the days classes*
You and Nico were laying on the floor, working on your painting.
"I think the house should be (f/c)." You said.
"No, no. I'm pretty sure it should be black."
"We should put an omega sign on the door so that demigods know they're welcome."
"I wouldn't want random people trampling into my house!"
"Your house?! We're supposed to be working on this together!"
So, yeah, it wasn't going so well.
"Together, huh?" Nico said into your ear.
"Yes it's a team project." You replied, trying to ignore how close he was. You looked back down at the sketch of the painting.
"Are you trying to ignore me, (y/n)?"
"Since when do you call me by my first name?" You asked, looking up at him.
"Since I found out I was in love with you." He said and kissed you, biting lightly on your bottom lip when you kissed back. Let's just say, you got along a lot better after that.Aaannd. That was verrry long. To write anyways. I hope you guys liked it thank you so much!
