KATRIN'S P.O.V

"It was only a smile, but my heart it went wild. I wasn't expecting that" ~Jamie Lawson, 'Wasn't expecting that'

Everyone eventually falls asleep, leaving just Hotch and I awake on separate ends of the jet.
He's intensely looking through case files when I walk over to him and sit down in the seat across from him.
"I didn't think you'd ever talk to me again unless it was absolutely necessary" he says as he continues to look at pictures
"Well I figured if I'm gonna be a member of this team I may as well get on with its leader" I say and he looks up from his case file smiling slightly
"You want to stay?"
"Yeah, I do...."
"What's wrong?"
"What do you mean?" I frown
"Well I mean you've been staring out the window at the back end of the plane without the overhead light on pretending to be asleep for the past hour, something's wrong" he sets aside all his case files and I sigh.
Profilers.....
"I'm totally fine" I lie and he raises an eyebrow. I sigh again, slightly annoyed now
"You know what this is about Hotchner"
"Yes I do, I'd just like to hear you say it"
I give yet another sigh and, looking out the window, I mumble
"I think I like Reid" as quietly as possible, seeing as he's no more than two feet away, "And the bombings are just... Old memories"
He nods, smiling to himself
"You're allowed to like him, just don't let it distract you and remember that fraternization between beureu employees is prohibited" he waits a silence filled second before winking and I smile.
"Now, you can either get some sleep or you can review these cases with me" he tells me and I pick up a file, flicking open the cover
"But I wasn't with you for these"
"It doesn't matter, once you're it's like you always have been"
I smile at that. Every time I've dared to get close to someone they've left... Or died. Maybe I've finally found a place where people will stay.

REID'S P.O.V

"So you're staying?" I hear Emily ask Katrin as we get off the jet and walk over to the SUVs that await  us in the parking lot.
"Yes, I'm staying" Katrin nods and I suppress a smile as I ask
"For how long?"
"I don't know, I'm just not ready to leave yet"
Good.... Wait. What?

"Hey Reid?"
"Yeah" I glance up from the door of my car to see her at the one beside me
"See you tomorrow"
"See you" I open the door and sit there for a moment, waiting as she says goodbye to the others and  drives off.
Why do I wait for her... I am so confused at the moment.
Well...
"Get it together" I mumble to myself before pulling out of the parking space I'm in and driving away.
I get about five hundred meters down the road before a map forms in my head and I connect the dots. And in the middle I see exactly what's going on.
With a loud screech I make a possibly quite illegal U-turn and speed off.
For once my bad driving is coming in handy...

KATRIN'S P.O.V

My street is scarily quiet as I make my way to my front door, pacing back toward the shiny black SUV when I realize I've forgotten my keys. As I'm walking back I notice a loud sound from next door, like a child crying and move swiftly through my yard over to the house to peek through the window.
Sometimes I used to babysit the daughter of the family next door, three weeks ago when I didn't have this job. Her name is Poppy and she has blond curls of hair and the bluest eyes in the world. Now I see her curled up on the floor between the bloody bodies of her parents, balling her eyes out.
"Poppy!?" I tap the window frantically and her small red blotched face appears
"Poppy I'm gonna come in now okay?" I walk to the door and shove it open, ramming my side into the wood repeatedly until finally it flies open and the little girl runs to me, throwing her arms around my legs. Poppy's three, and smart for her age too.
I pick her up, looking at the two bodies on the once white, now deep red carpet.
"I'm gonna take you to my house now okay? And we're gonna call my new friends who are going to help you" I tell her calmly
"Mom ah dad?" She asks, twirling a wave of my loose hair around her little finger
"No, Poppy, I'm sorry".
I carry her next door, shrieking and crying in my arms until I reach the front door of my house.
There's a loud screech behind me and I turn to see Reid getting- rather stumbling- out of his car.
"Don't open the door"
"Wha-"
"Don't open it, its rigged to trigger a bomb"
"Reid I-"
BANG!!
