Ellie's Pov

"Are you sure you're ready for this El, I mean we could just drive home right now. California is a bit too far for my liking, and I know you said you would keep in touch, but you're still a young lady, only 23, and--"

"Dad," I interrupted, "I'm fine. You know this has always been a dream of mine. Jess is expecting me and I promise I will take good care of myself," I pleaded.

Goodbyes have always been difficult for Dad. It was hard for him to say goodbye to my goldfish Carlton when he passed 10 years ago, it was hard for him to say goodbye to KFC when his doctor told him to go easy on the fried food, and it's hard for him to say goodbye now, to his only daughter as she leaves for an adventure of the life time (eeeep). "My flight is leaving soon Dad, I better get going."

"Ok kiddo take care, and remember--"

"To call everyday, yaddah yaddah I remember," I finished for him with a light chuckle.

Dad flashed me one last smile, and although there was concern, I also saw a glint of pride, and pictured him smiling and saying "My little lady is all grown up," like he always does. After one more hug, I turned towards the direction of my gate, ready to get on this plane, and ready to finally start living life according to my expectations. America, please love me.
