It's been the same dream for the past five weeks now, I'm running through the forest, yet not as myself.. As a wolf, with five or six others trailing behind me as we just ran free, feeling the wind brush through out fur and tickle our spines. I never felt so free in my life, just to run and feel the world I once knew melt away into nothing and turn black. Yet it was all a dream, which ended with a loud gunshot and I shot up from my bed and panted, covered in sweat from twisting and turning. Rubbing my eyes, I sigh and run a hand through my braided hair, scratching my scalp before fall back onto the bed. 2:00 am and school tomorrow, not good. I reach over and pick up my phone, seeing message upon message from KIK and I briefly chuckled to myself. With my curiosity getting to me, I added every person who was very close to me and typed in the question.

'Hey... Did any of you guys have a dream about wolves?'

Before I could even put my phone down, it buzzed and flashed three replies, causing my eyebrows to knit together in slight confusion and worry.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

School was the next day and I woke up highly angry, I threw my alarm clock against the wall and yelled. That alone surprised me, making me slightly afraid of what else I could do when angry. I did my usual routine of getting ready and was stuck staring at myself in the mirror. My brown eyes stared back at me, looking down as I dropped my earrings. After I picked it up, I looked up and nearly had a heart attack, my eyes were no longer brown... They were golden, gleaming brightly in the mirror as I simply watched the color fade away and return to their natural color of being dark brown. I had to have been hallucinating, right? An eye color can't just change like that and go back to normal. I rubbed my temples slowly, feeling a headache coming on. Getting my backpack and things, I headed out the door and slipped my earphones in, turning my music up loudly to clear my head.

Once at the school, I felt as if I wanted to scream and cry, seeing as though everything was so loud and much more bright. I had to call a meeting for this, I sat on one of couches in the hallway and waited for them. As Kevin approached me and sat down, I sighed and shook my head, looking up as Kaitlyn and Keenan followed soon after. "You guys too?" I asked weakly, rubbing my head as they nodded and frowned. "What the hell is happening?" Kevin finally spoke, I could see and hear the confusion in him and all I could do was sigh, shaking my head. I looked at my phone, cursing loudly as I saw the time. "We gotta go... Class is about to start." I quickly ruffled his hair and got up from the couch, slowly walking to get to my first period class.

It seemed the first class was always the longest and I peered down at my hands as they began to hurt, seeing the blue veins in my wrists look more pronounce and seem to pulse steadily. Wincing slightly, I pull my sweater down to hide my condition and only prayed for this class to go by much faster. Combined with the yelling and loud talking, I honestly felt like my head would explode from so much irritation and noise. School went by slower than expected, making the headache I had much worse and more... pronounce with the pain. Thank God I made it out alive, yet I wanted to kill every last person in the school and use their skulls as a candle holder. Once I got home, I dragged myself upstairs and fell face first onto my bed, letting out a muffled scream of frustration. Worn out from yelling and screaming, I drifted off to sleep.

There I was in the woods again, yet as a human and wandering around bare foot, not really caring about the sticks and twigs stabbing into my feet. I stared up at the full moon longingly, almost in a trance from how pretty it looked. Why haven't I seen it like this before? It felt as if it were calling me, luring me in to absorb its true power and meaning. I then felt dizzy and the night sky began to spin and I fell onto the ground, falling asleep on the cold ground. Groaning in my sleep, I curled up into myself and clutched my stomach as it began to rumble and ache immensely. I couldn't even straighten myself out, if I even tried to twitch my hand or arm, I would be rewarded with a sharp pain radiating from my stomach.

I couldn't take it anymore and rolled myself out of bed, landing on my back with a loud yelp. Every part of my body felt as if it were on fire and burning my skin. My hands trembled, feeling the pulse in my wrists beat faster and faster. I laid on my side, breathing heavily as I peeled every piece of clothing from my body, curling up into myself once more. With a strained scream, I felt my back snap and twist harshly, making my body jerk forward and back. I clenched my eyes shut tightly, feeling every bone in my body begin to snap and twist violently; making me whimper and cry silently. A sudden calmness came over me, making my eyes slowly begin to close as I stopped whimpering and soon drifted off to sleep. When I woke up, I felt entirely different and stood up, seeing just how close to the ground I was.

Moving quickly, I walked into the bathroom and stopped, seeing my reflection as a wolf in the mirror on the door. Those same golden eyes stared back at me, matching every aspect of my new form. I had to be dreaming, surely I had to be. My white, black, and grey fur blended together into a thick coat, each strand different from the other as my grey tail swished back and forth slowly as I stared at myself. I wasn't dreaming anymore... This was real. I was the same wolf from my dream, not just imagining it... But actually living it. I am a wolf...
