I own none of the characters, apart from any OCs.
You stood confidently on the platform of 9 3/4 with the old witch. Your Mother had died during childbirth with your brother, but as a weak, early baby he had soon gone and taken your father with him thanks to the heartbreak. The kind but strict sixty-year-old Hether Munford had taken you in and raised you with pride.
It was her that stood by you now giving you encouraging words and reminders to stay out of trouble. Her husband, Stan, who was quiet and generally nodded in agreement with his somewhat outspoken wife, slipped you five to spend on the trolley. You looked at him with a grin and he winked, nodding his head in classic Stan style.
There was a sharp whistle and Hether bundled you onto the train with Giddeon your owl, you kept your treasured money clasped tight in your hand away from her eagle eyes. She hugged you one last time and again reminded you to stay off the pranks as the doors slammed shut. You quickly lost sight of her and Stan in the throbbing crowd of sobbing Mothers, tearful younger siblings and proud Fathers, but soon enough they too were dissolving into the steam billowing out the train.
You had been sitting alone for what must have been around five minutes before two red-headed twins knocked on the compartment door, you stood up and slid it open;
"What's up?" You queried.
"We were hoping to share your compartment, everywhere else is either full," the one on the left said,
"Or has people we don't like the look of in." The other finished.
"Yeah, of course you can come in, I'm (Y/N), Hether and Stan Munford's daughter." You said sticking out a hand.
"I'm Fred, and this is George." Fred indicated him and his brother.
"Wait, Munford?" George said, " Dad goes on about him loads, guess they work together at the ministry."
"Well, I'm adopted, my family died when I was young." Seeing their faces you quickly continued,"But don't be to upset, I barely knew them, and Stan and Hether have raised me since I was like 2."
You came out the way of the door and the three of you sat down, you and Giddeon one one side, the twins on the other.
You had been talking for a while about your family, their family, Hogwarts, the sorting ceremony, your favourite teams etcetera etcetera when the subject of 'Best Moments' came up.
"Well," you started, "This one time Hethers friend was over and she was bragging about how she had the latest copy of 'Witch Weekly', how some old heart-throb had done, err, something blah blah blah, so obviously I got bored and decided to have some fun. I gave her some 'homemade cake' which I had, tampered with and a huge pimple started swelling in her chin, it got so big she had to go with Hether to St.Mungo's and she still has a white circle where they popped it." You and the twins were laughing so hard by the climax of the story you could barely finish it.
"What did Stan and Hether say?" Gasped George.
"Stan can't look at her without breaking down into laughter and even Hether smiles about it!"
"Wow, that was amazing (Y/N), but we can top it, so we have a brother called Percy, he's a real pain in the arse, but anyway this one time," Fred stopped talking as George's he'd shook furiously.
"Fred, George. I have been looking for the both of you. I hope you weren't bragging again, and for the last time that experience was extremely traumatic for me. Who is your friend may I ask?"
"Oh, yeah right, I'm (Y/N) Munford, great to meet you." You said sticking out your hand and shaking with Percy, unlike the twins he was serious and proper, whereas they were, well just like you. Immature, cheeky and laid back.
"Perse hadn't you be, like, going?" Fred said his head pointed toward the door.
"Yes, quite right, it was a pleasure meeting you Munford." With that he strode off down to the other end of the train carriage.
The twins exhaled loudly.
"I'm starving." George said dramatically flopping back down onto the seat, then as if on que a small old lady opened up the door and asked; "Anything from he trolley my dearies?"
"Oh yeah, three Pumpkin Pasties, three Chocolate Frogs and a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavour beans, thanks." You passed over your money from Stan, took your change and sat down again handing the boys and pastie and a frog each.
"Wow (Y/N) are you sure!" Fred asked
You nodded your mouth full of pastie. The rest of the journey was fun and you had a new wizard card as well, 'Merlin'.
