Ryuko stepped off the boat with Mako early in the morning on Sunday. Her hair blew in the wind as she looked around, scared to start all over again. "Look Ryuko! There's our school!" Mako jumped up and down and dragged Ryuko across campus to the dorms. The school was all white and black. Almost no color was visible, and Mako didn't like that. The two girls entered their dorm room, unpacked and sat down to visit before the campus meeting.
"What do you think our teachers will be like?!" Mako asked, bouncing on her bed. "I don't know." Ryuko replied, her heart not in it."What do you think the kids will be like?" The brunette chirped, staring at Ryuko. "I don't know." Was all Ryuko said. "Do you think kids from Honnoji Academy will be here?!" Mako spun in circles, day dreaming. "Probably." Ryuko replied shortly.
Ryuko lay back on her pillows, dosing off for ten minutes, before Mako was jumping on her to wake up. "Come on Ryuko," Mako chanted. "Time for the meeting!" She shouted in her friend's ear. "Ik I'm up!" The older girl got up, pulled on a jacket and walked out, leaving Mako to run after her. Together the girls walked through the bland white halls, to a large white gym. The only non white objects in the room was the lines on the basketball court, and the seats in the stands. Ryuko took a seat in the very back, and put her head in her hands. mako was running around, attempting to make friends, but mostly annoying everyone.
"Why the glum look?" Asked a gravely voice next to Ryuko. She jumped out of her skin, looking to her side to see her old teacher, Aikuro Mikisugi sitting right next to her, the light glinting off his glasses. "What the hell?!" Ryuko whispered loudly, brushing her black and red hair out of her face. "Hello Ryuko." Mikisugi smiled kindly. "Why are you here?" She askeed, not unkindly. "I'm teaching of course. I am your new homeroom teacher!" He laughed lightly at the glare Ryuko gave him. "You? Again? No..." She put her face back in her hands and grumbled to herself. "You know, I was expecting a more... Happy welcome?" He said, his glasses glinting again. "You're weird." She said, scooting away. But Mikisugi just scooted closer. "Stalker." She grunted, looking the opposite direction.
"Attention students!" Shouted a large man in the center of the gym, right as Mako plopped down in the seat next to Ryuko, greeting Mikisugi happily. "See, that's a warm welcome." Mr. Mikisugi whispered to Ryuko. "Oh shove it." She huffed. "We welcome all of our new transfer students and teachers warmly! We hope you enjoy our school and learn a thing or two while you are here!" The large man looked nice enough, but Ryuko wanted no reason to talk to any of them. "We will see you tomorrow for the first day of school, and wish you well!" The man departed, leaving the students to madly rush out of the gym. Everyone wanted to be first in the dinner line, everyone except Ryuko.
Mako dashed ahead, motivated by the word "food", and ran into a large teen. She teared up, ready to cry when the mean kid beat her up, but when the young man turned around, Mako's tears turned to joy. "Gamagoori!" She shrieked, jumping up to hug him. Gamagoori laughed, hugging her back, softly so he didn't crush her, and sat her down on the ground. "How have you been?" He asked, smiling. "Great! But Ryuko is sad." She frowned a little. Gamagoori patted her on the head. "Just give her time." He said, and they went to eat together, unaware that Ryuko had slipped away.
